With the conference schedule now released by the SEC, the full 2013 is looking to be like this:

Aug 29 UNC
Sept 7 @ UGA
Sept 14 Vandy
Sept 21 SC State

Sept 28 @ UCF
Oct 5 Kentucky
Oct 12 @ Arky
Oct 19 @ Tenn
Oct 26 @ Mizzou
Nov 2 Miss St
Nov 9 Bye
Nov 16 Florida
Nov 23 Bye
Nov 30 Clemson

I don't have a problem with this schedule...we could conceivably see UK, AR, UT all 3 opponents in a row with entirely new coaching staffs, and still fairly early in the season for them. UGA will be losing a lot of starters IMO from their team after this season, and we have their number now. Arkansas's QB is a Sr., and Bray most likely will bolt for the NFL if Dooley leaves.

IMO the toughest slate of opponents will be at the end of the season, with MSU, UF, and CU...but they are ALL home games and are split with bye weeks in-between. And NO LSU and NO Alabama.

In other words, it could be better, but it could be a LOT worse. IMO, this schedule is much more manageable than this year's schedule....

Any thoughts?

Agreed, I'm liking it.

Especially with the return of the Border War against UNC at home. Can't wait to stomp their pansy assess. Also, I'm pretty sure we are opening the CFB season again with this game.

Those bye weeks are crucial. Even though one would probably be better earlier in the season, love having them before UF and Clemson.

I thought Texas A&M was supposed to be the new rival starting 2013.
Also, to take the next step don't we need to get out of the manageability mindset?
Last year and this year's schedules were both manageable with our rosters.
You were a better team than Auburn. Though you weren't at full strength versus Arkansas, elite SEC teams have developed depth, i.e. some starters aren't easily replaced but the backups should be ready at any moment.
LSU night games are supposedly the best. You only lost by 2 despite LSU dominating the game. Your defense did a good job of holding LSU to field-goal attempts rather than touchdowns, though Mettenberger helped a little too. Shouldn't be too hard over that loss, but the team had many opportunites to score. Playcalling, Connor, whatever, the team and staff only have themselves to blame. I don't want to talk about the Florida loss. That was an anomaly.
Anyways, my point is that we've had the players to go 12-0 this season and last, but something has been holding us back. My first guess would be coaching.

it appears more manageable than 2012 outside of the 3 consecutive road games and 4 of 5 consecutive saturdays away from Williams-Brice.

we're gonna have to turn the UCF/Orlando game into Williams-Brice South with FLA-Gamecocks and usual traveling crowd...much like taking over chapel hill in 2007.

Spurrier's best seasons (2011/2010/2006) have all had bye weeks prior to week 8. 2013 bye week occurs after 9 consecutive saturdays and 10 games.

there is no doubt that replacing LSU with MSU in Columbia is a reprieve.
