Not sure where Madison Square garden comes in but why let Duke use a game with UK to recruit Atlanta / Georgia area

The first game of the classic was in MSG. We played Kansas last season. For someone who is such a big UK fan I thought you'd know this. It was also well attended by celebs, recruits, and gave an opportunity for exposure in Big East country.

For somebody who claims to be a UK fan you sure do not advance the best long term strategy to keep them ahead of the ACC for NCAA banners.

Sure it does. It gives UK experience in big venues early in the season, knowing we have very young teams that will need that. It'll pay dividends come March where you really make the money. 2013 will put them in one of the hottest recruiting areas in the country in Chicago as well.

The ACC is going to get their exposure either way. Why are you so scared of the ACC? Good grief. You play them and beat them if you want to diminish their progress.

We tried to play IU in Lucas Oil. They refused adamantly. And you're laughingly naive if you think we're going to play in the Yum center when not playing Louisville. You do realize Louisville hasn't allowed that to happen to this point for a reason right? They have purposely scheduled to block us out of our annual city of Louisville game in the past in that venue. No way they're letting two border teams play there. They'd rather go broke (and they are) then let that happen.

For someone mocking my fandom you sure have some naive notions about things.

Which is why we play the Terps in Barclays this season! I get that part and have no problem with it. Note that playing NYC vs MD is not giving exposure to UNC or Duke nor is it giving exposure to a Big East team. As for Madison Square garden you should remember that it was that venue that got UK tainted by the cheating scandal of the 50's and Rupp's feelings on that particular venue.

Lucas is a big venue and it is closer for fans to travel. Considering the NCAA has their headquarters there and the most NCAA Final Fours get played there UK should make it Rupp North. If IU would not play there why not play Duke in Lucas on a saturday for maximum exposure? Instead we have a crappy tuesday game in the second slot when folks have to work on wednesday!

A) UK vs Duke in Lucas on Saturday
B) UK vs Duke in Atlanta for the late game on Tuesday

Tell me again how B is better?

And you are a Louisville native and not paying attention to the money trail. YUM has a horrible deal with UL where they get like 88% of revenue so even tho YUM is doing well in bookings - especially non basketball - they are losing money. As a taxpayer funded building either Louisville is going have to give back some of that 88% or they are going to have to let BBN share the building when they want to play there.

which is cute that your panties are still in a bundle over my comments about our AD and Joker

No, I am pragmatic about the real world of business, politics, and bloated universities feeding at the trough. Look I give you props for your game knowledge but you are the naive one when it comes to the bigger picture of college sports. Instead of trying to shoot down these points because you want to win the swinging dick war try and listen to the points being made and watch your backyard a little closer so you get smarter.

Speaking about panties in a wad, did you boycott BBM last night because Joker is the football coach? Wildcat Mike was there so what kept you away? Tickets were free and even the scalpers outside could get you in for cheap.

Sorry for the extra post but this was edited after you edited the original.

I am not scarred of the ACC I am just aware of what you need to do when you play the long game of basketball dominance. I have been to Cameron and seen the "sixth man" in Black and White on more than one occasion up close. Duke likes to play where they have the most control so if ESPN wanted UK vs Duke then Cal should have pushed for the game in Lucas on a Saturday.
