Linemen.
Period.
So sick of hearing about this star or that star. Fact is, you live and die in the trenches.
UGA didn't lose because Aaron Murray sucks or Connor Shaw is GOAT. Linemen won that game.
Linemen win Championships. So why haven't some of these coaches figured this out? (CMR included)

Doesn't USC have one of the worst o-lines in the SEC? Hasn't the o-line been kind of a problem for them?
Also, from the angry tone... put down the bottle.

Pretty sure a college coach who has had success over a 10 year period is aware of it.

Petrino had average offensive and defensive lines and still won
It's not impossible to win without the best linemen

UCS's O-line was prepared enough to drive the ball 2 times against the Dawgs. The game was over 6 minutes into the contest. You just didn't watch.
However, this thread has nothing to do with USC.

I think they have figured it out. It just seems like linemen, especially O-line, are the toughest positions to evaluate. You get a few once in a lifetime talents that everyone knows will play very quickly. The rest are kind of crap shoots. Then, along with that, you have to have the S&C program to get those guys up to snuff with the rest of the SEC.

If LSU's OL were healthy and playing as a cohesive unit the future would be a whole lot brighter right now.

Why haven't I seen your introductory thread on the OT yet?

I'm talking about WINNING the NCAA Title (BCS or whatever they call it when the playoff system is in)
CMR recruits talent, if we had a top coach we would have titles. CMR is using God in the locker room, and Jesus doesn't bring home the crystal football. Seems like a waste of talent to me.

Point still stands. The man knows what he's doing.

Petrino didn't do anything but come in 3rd in the SEC West and wreck a motorcycle.

We were supposed to have one of the best OLs in the nation.

He keeps saying that, yet we haven't even had a chance to play for the title.

Yep, and the very first game showed issues...hard to figure.

So why not find the guys that can develop these 4 and 5 star linemen. Saban is the only coach that has success there. They have YET to field a QB worth a frick. They just have a week to throw the football.
Linemen win Championships.

This thread is about how its all about the lines.
USCs line was not impressive all year and they whipped you guys.. so what's your explanation for that?
Maybe just the better team with the better coach won.

What else? It's no secret that CMR thinks God will win a title for him rather than him win a title on his own. We recruit top 5 classes year in and year out.
However, Spurrier HATES UGA and always has. He PREPARED his team.

This is why I'm glad that Muschamp loaded up on linemen (both sides) in his recruiting classes while he was taking flack for not going after play makers.
