A Synopsis of the Dawgumentary:

SBJ and I struck a deal last year to be partners in the Dawgrant. I set up gatarant.com on a vBulletin platform as a transition site until he decided to port the dawgrant url. Sometime in Dec or Jan I decided that being even MORE involved in the dawgrant than I already was, was not a path to happiness for me. I gratefully took my losses in an ego driven, poorly conceived venture and moved on.

I have nothing but nice things to say about sbj. I heard from him yesterday and he said the dawgrant is not dead, that it will be back and he will be issuing a statement soon. I suspect that will happen at some point, but he will have to shell out some serious dough or find a partner that can put up with... like I said, I have nothing but nice things to say about the guy.

The dawgrant has been hosted on td for years, so the server has not changed. Just the management. By the time sbj figures out he should have redirected the url to another server, all of his regular posters will be registered here. The die hard will find their way back to the trailer park dumpster fire, like moths to a bug zapper at Putt-Putt.

Regardless, it is a win for TD from an increased traffic, new forum standpoint. This place is professionally managed and moderated. I've heard a lot of crying about how you can't do this and you can't do that. Whatever. It's a lot more comfortable for cynics and whiners to focus on what they can't do than what they can do. The door swings both ways and I am pretty sure that everybody here registered for the priv of posting here.
