Would Jack Del Rio be out of the question?

Realistically, just about any coach not named Saban or Miles (and even they would take a look) would consider Arkansas. I would bet Bob Stoops would jump ship today to Arkansas if given the offer.

I'm going to start calling this the art of Tony Hawk trolling, because you just double reverse 360 trolled.

What about Brian Billick?

Has he stated he doesn't want to coach college or is there another reason his name is never mentioned?

Really? Why do you say that? They aren't touching him in Norman.

Remember that shitty show in HBO about the surfer's and the guy who was either an alien or God, but the show was cancelled before we found out which?

That is what I'm reminded of when I hear "Yost".

John from Cincinnatti. David Milch cancelled Deadwood to create that shitastic show. Milch = Dumbass

He's mad because everyone isn't buying his conspiracy theory of surrounding schools colluding together to keep aTm down.

By surrounding schools he means every school that recruits Texas.

So you remember it?

I liked that it was a show you had to follow, really in depth story line, but yes Deadwood should have been completed, damn writers strike.

Realistic choices are probably few but I think that someone who is mid 40's and has a personality that is likable to much of the state will be the choice.

If I had to guess its a current college coach from a FBS school such as Cristobal or Hud, but not sure it's either of those guys specifically.

John L. has a likable personality, Bob Petrino did not.

It comes down to W/L, if the coach hired has a record of success he will be liked, if not, well...

Hell no, per Mark Schlabach a few years ago, when Les leaves, we are hiring Smart and he is going to win a natty at LSU.

Reason this guy has to be likable is he will have to repair damage done by 3 coaches. There are people who may never come back, unless schmoozed and impressed with the first opinion, but the university needs their dollars. The W/L record will be on the good side when hired, so that will take care of that part of his resume.
