its not Saban or Miles- anybody can coach a bunch of 5-star talents to victory. Need to look at the guys coaching the 2 and 3-star guys and getting results.
Saban was down in talent when he got to Bama- and what did he do? Lost to Crooms and ULM on his way to 6-6

Well part of being a great coach at the college level is recruiting 5 star talent.

Yes, recruiting not part of coaching. Where can I hire this 2-3 star wunderkind from?

I see what you are saying but what are the primary functions of a CFB HC? To me it is:
01. Good staff hires
02. Recruiting
03. Keeping the whole program on the same page
04. Dealing with alumni/boosters/local media.
Coach Saban does 1-3 very well, not sure about #4. At LSU he seemed continually ticked. But to your point, if an HC is overachieving with 2&3 stars, congrats but he has failed at a primary function of recruiting.

proves you don't know shite. bama had tons of talent when saban arrived. they were just undisciplined and he weeded out the one's that didn't want to excel.
