What if LSU & Alabama had played the NC game right after the SECcG?

Do you think the results would have been the same as they turned out a month later? Or do you think that it turns out to be another 9-6 game, maybe swinging in LSU's favor yet again?
After LSU ran the table in the SEC on top of beating a top 5 Oregon team and a top 20 West Virginia team that clobbered Clemson 70 to who cares in their bowl game. I have to say I feel a bit sorry for them that they didn't get the NC title. That was a rough schedule that they took care of with relative ease

LSU would of won 21-0. Fact.

We would still have had JJ at QB and Les Miles calling the shots.
In short, we would still have lost.

I don't see how it would be an advantage.
Stupid thread.

Really, SSDD! Why do we bother trying to explain that
Last year is over

If I had 5 weeks to watch tapes on JJ and had played against LSU already, I could of came up with a game plan too to beat LSU.

You don't think the month long lay off had any effect whatsover?

Well let me think. JJ at QB check, Les unwilling, to play anyother QB in entire state check, Bama d check, yes same results.

I do. I think Rogers lost a little something during the long holiday season. He didn't look himself at all. Maybe LSU did too.

Bama would have beaten us worse
Probably 61-0
Probably 61-0

Come on. There are 2 days until the start of the season and this is what's on your mind?

The SECcG was decptive in the final score. Our offensive output was really bad, especially passing numbers. We had the benefit of a short field and key turnovers in the second half. If it is possible, it seems our offense actually regressed as the season went along last season.
Long story short, no difference and we still would not likely cross the 50.

Ok, Two tiger fans in very short order believe they still lose. One more and I guess its official. I personally believe LSU lost a little something during that month long off.

Just a hypothetical question. Killing time and making yet another bad post. Its my forte

OP, did you watch the game? We got beat 21 - 0, and the score wasn't even that close. It very easily could have been 35 - 0, if not for for the fact that are defense was incredible.
Our inability to adjust to what Bama was doing defensively tells me we lose again, and again. Period. One dimensional teams struggle like a mofo againt a Saban defense.
We struggled in game 1, for that matter. Our defense/special teams were better, and that's why we won. That, and we made their asses quit in ot.

So you don't think there is any chance whatsoever that something was lost after waiting an entire month? I know Alabama had to wait a month too, but, perhaps their coaches did a better job of keeping them focused through the holidays than did LSU's. LSU's defense didn't look to be as sharp. They let Alabama deep into their territory again and again and again. Something that hadn't been seen. If anyone should have been able to drive into LSU territory as many times as they did, it should have been Arkansas a month earlier, yet they couldn't do jack against you.

Arkansas, for all their frilly lil qb's and such, is not Bama. Arkansas can have success against mediocre defenses, but against teams like LSU and Alabama, they look pretty pedestrian. That's because football games are won at the line of scrimmage, by blocking and tackling.
The story of the second game was this....
1. Our QB play was pathetic
2. We made zero adjustments
3. What Bama did offensively workd good enough to get them into makeable field goal range.
4. They made their field goals.
Think of like this.....bama missed, what, (4) or (5) field goals in game 1, counting the block? In game two, Bama's offense was SLIGHTLY better than it was in game 1, as evidenced by the fact that they were kicking 25 yard field goals instead of 50 yarders.
Conversely, our offense was just as abysmal. What we did in game (1) didn't work to well - it worked even less in game (2).
In game two, Saban realized he would have to throw the ball a little, and did so successfully. Miles didn't do much of anything different. While I only slightly fault him for not doing something "more different", as much as I love the guy, I will never get past the lack of adjustments DURING game 2.
It's one thing to not move the ball because you fail to execute, etc. WE DID NOT COME CLOSE TO MOVING THE BALL IN GAME 2.
And no adjustments were made. I'll never understand it.
As to your question, no - we lose that game every time, with that game plan, and without adjusting. Every time.
Edit: Here's the short version. Miles outcoached Saban in game 1. Saban outcoached Miles in game 2.
