a lot of these new alabama posters do nothing but troll every thread, start threads about the national championship game, 21-0, etc. and it's gotten out of hand. any way that the rant could get a short probationary period for new posters?

TIA

Agreed this new bama crop is awful and really bringing the board down. It's not just the new ones but there are several old accounts with no post history that all the sudden are posting again.

It's not just the new bama poster (although they do make up a large portion of these new trolls). But yeah, the SECR needs some type of probationary period or some zero tolerance policing. Thanks

Yup. The new Bama ones piss me off. It's the same LSU vs Bama thread every day.

Agreed but as a percentage the bama ones are killing the board, although several decent new additions from all sides.

I see that Dale Denton just got reincarnated so things can only get better around here.

This. It's like they've never seen a winning season at Alabama before.

I think I see what you did there...

I feel like they should be kinda forced to lurk for at least a couple of weeks after signing up before they're able to start threads.

Let them post, just ban them quickly when their shittiness comes through and have no reinstatements.

I think a probationary period could be good for these scum pos that like to troll boards but at the same time you might want not to be to harsh on the newbies. It might take them awhile to figure out the culture of the rant.

I do kind of agree with you, but I hate the idea of grouping all new posters into the same group of flamers. I'm not sure what exactly you meant by a probationary period, but what about something like, no starting threads for the first couple months?
I think that would weaken a trolls trolling ability some. A short leash as someone else mentioned is not a bad idea by itself or in junction with what I said either I think.
Yes, I know I'm fairly new too, but I don't think I have ever trolled or flamed another team

If they had a probationary period when many in this thread joined, you would not have stayed around long. All that does is make people lose interest and what not or find another message board.

That may or may not be true... I read the board for 2+ years then finally decided to post, but when I started, I'm mostly understood the board etiquette. I even went to the OT to introduce myself even though I knew what happened to the poor people who did that.

If nothing else, new poster shouldn't be allowed to start new threads for about 2 weeks. If this were IRC, when some of these new posters start reposting the same LSU vs Bama bs threads, you could just mute them for a short time.

I guess all in all, I'm just tired of all the stupid Bama homers being obnoxious and wouldn't mind seeing a few of them being "limited" somehow, so they could learn how the board works and realize that trolling all the time is punishable somehow.

eta: so many typos, I'm not even gonna correct it. stupid android voice recognition...
