Just looking at the schedule for Alabama. With the Alabama @ Mizzou game sandwiched between a soft Ole' Miss and the 3rd Saturday in October rivalry with UTK, how will they respond to the potential trap game when facing the high power and unusual offense of Mizzou?

We normally don't agree on much, but I have to say this was spot on

Check out how so called "high powered offenses" have faired against Alabama the past few years.

Are you serious? You might have an argument if it was after Arkansas or before LSU. But its not. Plus, its a new opponent. I can guarantee special attention has been paid to Missouri and Texas A&M during the summer.

semo, excellent question and topic for a thread. I think clearly the key to finding out the answer is the fact that ARKANSAS AND TEXAS A&M DON'T LIKE EACH OTHER ZOMG FLAME WAR YAAAARRGH AGGY-PIGGY FLAME WAR!
Hogs and Collies biting each other! Mass hysteria! Hump it cheering a woo pig! Let it begin! Arky vs A&M! A&M vs Arky! This thread needs Aggy-Piggy flame warring and it needs it now!
That didn't take long, did it? Maybe 5 posts?

Once we really get 'em going, we can sit back and watch....

As much as Tenn fans will think I'm flaming, I'm not. I don't see the Mizzou game as a trap game. First time playing them for everyone here now, so they will have studied and be ready. I see the Tenn game more as a trap game, after the whippings they've received over the last 5 yrs.

Really just shows you how much you don't matter huh? Texas A&M joins the SEC, oh yea and Mizzou was the filler 14.

I think whether the Mizzou game becomes a trap or not depends on how well the BD's know their assignments by that point in the season. If the DB's are good to go then Alabama can crank it up with the front 7. At that point the question would shift to whether Mizzou is ready for that kind of heat from a SEC front 7 both on offense and defense? Kirby will not let the blizt packages fly until he knows the BD's can stand on their own.

Alahunter, isn't the Tennessee game a real big one for you though? Could they be looking ahead?
I do think you're right, though - Saban will be prepared, he knows Pinkel, they're friends, and he has said many times he thinks Pinkel is a good coach.

Tenn is our biggest rival, but we've beaten them 5 in a row, and outscored them by something in the range of 150-40 in the process.(not exact, but probably close without looking)
I think Bama plays 6 teams this year they didn't last year. They will be focused and prepared for those games, I think.
