We backed into it because Alabama was down somewhat, Auburn was terrible, and LSU was bad(still beat us). It was a rare perfect storm of circumstances that allowed us to step up and claim the west. We beat one good team(Arky) and 2 decent teams(OM and Bama). We lost to a decent UK team, a bad Ok State team, and a BAD LSU team.

Pretty unbelievable that we lost to Kentucky and won the west in the same year.
