Why are we conversing on a separate help board?
The SEC Rant has it's own unique community.
This gets lost on the tigerdroppings OT.
It really makes no difference to me but I think an OT for the SECR would be worthwhile in the long run.
Just my opinion of course.

I agree. We're a different group over here. Most OT posters fricking hate the ranters and vice versa. And most of the shite over there is highly questionable anyhow. I don't venture there because it's like going into the deep web, the seedy underbelly.

I think it would do well. As someone who has posted on the OT and SEC Rant pretty exclusively, they are 2 different communities....no doubt.

To see if the Rant community wants this, could we (perhaps myself) post a thread on the SECr simply asking the question to gauge positive and negative responses?
I don't believe a lot of ranters venture to the Help Board for many reasons, but mostly because they're scared they'll be banned for saying the wrong thing.
Can we push this out onto the rant to get a better response?

If the SEC Rant intends to truly become a separate site from TD, then I feel it is necessary for it to have it's own OT. Slowly, but surely this board is drifting away from TD, with it's own domain name now, and Help Board, etc.
Many of the posters who post on the SEC Rant don't post on the OT, because it is viewed as an elitist club (pot, kettle, etc), but they still have the "want" to talk about stuff that is not related to SEC Sports at the current time. It would clear the board of the Nightly IM Thread, and also be a place to hold the SECsys and such in the future, without them cluttering up the sports "information" that is found on the SEC Rant.
I'm sure there will be many who oppose the idea, but I say it's worth a shot. An "experimental" try out of the board during the doldrums of Summer wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. It'd be a helluva lot better than Check-In threads, and the other threads that aren't taken seriously and turned into Spider-Man threads and IM threads during the day.
