I like the confidence and swagger coming from Mizzou fans. To be honest, I would rather see blind faith than the humble "please like us" approach most aTm fans seem to take with this move. Big brother Texas has really beaten the confidence out of this group and they are coming into the SEC tails tucked, heads down, trying to find acceptance. The SEC is the most arrogant, confident conference in the country. We talk trash back and forth like no other. We respect confidence even more than being realistic.
Is aTm's '12 team really this bad? If you have even the homer fans predicting 6 or 7 win seasons, it must be really bad. Or is it just you guys trying to be humble?

Well, that isn't entirely true. If it was, Arky would be the most beloved school here.

A&M and Mizzou are in different places right now.
Mizzou has currently the best staff in their history which has been there for a while, a lot of experience on both sides of the ball, and a decent recent record against the SEC. Oh and they got the best player in the country this spring. They enter the SEC on a high note.
Meanwhile at A&M we have a new coach after two failures with an offensive scheme that no one knows how it will work in the SEC, little experience in key areas (like D line or DB), and a crazy bad losing streak against SEC teams. For us to be supremely confidant about next year wouldn't be boastful, it would be crazy.
What we can be is hopeful about is the future. Sumlin seems to know what he needs to win in the future even if he lacks it now. Recruiting is up, our new AD is great, and we intend to put real money into making our program more competitive.
I only know a few A&M fans that feel that our future is what our fellow Big 12 Texans are telling us it will be- life in the basement. Most feel that we have what it takes to compete long-term, and this is our shot to get over the hump and cash in on our program's potential.

Cant stand some of the A&M guys on here.. I think a lot of us are trying to be humble, but I think a big problem is most are trying to be "accepted," even to the point of talking down on our own university because everybody gives us a hard time.. Every school has their own traditions and we have ours..
Anyway, big things are happening at A&M right now and I think our school is in the process of making a huge turnaround athletically. If you havent seen whats in the works lately at A&M or dont know much about us, check it out. Youd be stupid to think A&M isnt coming into the SEC swingin. Better believe weve got the money, the geography, the size, and the potential to succeed here. And if/when we get our act together, little gay ol' A&Ms gonna surprise a lot of people
