he has serious health issues..any length of time and the state will be paying a boat load for his medical care. I say probation, restitution, and a ban of being 50 miles from AU

they've already spent 80k + on dirt removal

Geeze. I need to come up with "dirt removal specialist" cards and go to Auburn. I'll dig around a tree for 80k. frick, I'd do it for 50k. Auburn got hosed.

No jail time but maybe a fine and community service. On the other hand, the Bama teabagger, definitely needs jail time to experience the pleasure that he thinks he gave his victim. In a prison, he'll probably get more than a teabag, he'll probably get to meet Analstayshea.

trees with historic value...

No doubt. But no one was hurt. No one was robbed of anything tangible. If someone vandalized Denny Chimes or the Bear Bryant statue, I would say the same thing.

Fine him. Make him make a contribution to Auburn University. But significant prison time is absolutely ludicrous.

If some nut from Auburn killed all the trees around Denny Chimes, I'd be happy with seeing him do a couple of years in the slammer. I don't see that as being "significant" prison time.

Then, have Bobby Lowder offer to wipe it off....
