Recruiting between LSU and A&M

Sorry if German.
Does LSU's recuiting take a hit because of A&M joining the SEC? It seems to me that LSU gets a lot of it recruits from East Texas, and there advantage is that LSU was in the SEC and A&M was in the BIG 12. Now that A&M has joined the SEC, do you see hometown recruits wanting to play at A&M and not have to sacrifice being in the BIG 12.
thoughts?

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State take the BIGGEST hit from A&M in the SEC. LSU will still get theirs. The Austin Cocksuckers will get theirs.

he definitely meant east texas. Should be interesting to watch.

Possibly. Conversely, it could be beneficial - with guys getting two guaranteed games in their home state it can be a recruiting tool.

I don't think the very few East Texas kidswe get every year will suddenly stop coming to LSU and start going to A&M just because A&M is in the SEC now. LSU and A&M are 2 very different schools.

true, but having the letters SEC on your jersey sure does make it a lot more inticing

Truth. When Les Miles went to Okie State the first thing he did was try and develop a Houston pipeline, one that has existed til this day. That bastard will up and dry.

Not every east Texas kid gets sold on just "playing in the SEC". That's probably in 1 in 20, 25 maybe 30 kids. LSU and A&M are two very different schools and I don't see 1 being a substitute for another.

I agree with everything your saying, but 1-20, 25, 30 seems steep. Especially with the academics A&M has. I mean being in the SEC and go to a school which is ranked in the top 10 for universities in the south, hell I'd go there

Honestly I don't care about beating LSU or even Texas in recruiting wars in Texas. As long as we continue to beat OU (who have won a MNC on the level of talent they get) we will be fine.

It will help lsu not hurt it.

There is more than enough talent in Texas to go around

Arkansas wants OSU and OU to take a hit in North Texas. We want to tell those Northern Texans it sure would be fun to play against your Southern Texas friends in the SEC.
Again, Thank you TAMU for joining the SEC and helping us back into our Alumni centers.

"playing in the SEC"
For the record.... just about every recruit we picked up that was wavering to other big powerhouse schools said, "I want to play in the SEC..."
I was really shocked at the comments of the kids we landed. For the record, we had one of the best recruiting classes we have ever seen, and we didn't even use all our scholarships. Sumlin said he wanted to hold some spots back to see what we needed later. I think it was a wise choice on his part really.
