What do we not understand? You guys HATE Texas more than we ever could...and that is saying alot. Hell, your Battle Hymn is all about saying BYE to Texas. I think alot of Aggies would still like to play them.

Friendly rivalry? You know nothing about it by that comment.

There was some good old fashioned hate between these teams back in the day. It will return once again.

As for the question, the sips are the ones who are backing out. I doubt we are gonna do them special favors if they want to play again, i.e. it will be on our terms. If we want to keep playing LSU at the end of the season, then they will have to agree to play it at another time in the year.

Honestly, a lot of Aggies are pretty excited about having LSU as the last game of the season. I doubt we dump LSU for a team that is running away from playing us.

Good point. I never realized the UT Fight Song referenced A&M. Maybe becasue I use to cover my ears whenever I heard it playing. I'm glad the Aggies told UT to kiss your arse. I can tell this though, in a few years if you guys get an opportunity to put them back on the schedule, it will be tough to turn down.

Motion to quash the term "t.u." It's too petty. I get the logic behind it but I think we can get over it. Just say "horns" or some shite. And no, I am not an Aggie apologist. shite's dumb. Just like saying "t.u."

Also, the war hymn has been that way for generations. It was produced at a time when A&M was a military school with what I imagine to be an "us against the world" mentality. I mean, what else could you be when you're stuck in old-time CS with a bunch of dudes -- military dudes, no less.

Naturally, there was a lot of focus on Texas who seemingly had it all. Obviously a lot of animosity and to a degree, jealousy. After all, we're talking about group of [insert military colloquilism] trying to catch a break while the horns are riding nice in Austin. Thus, we responded to their one-line shot with an entire verse intending to belittle them. The rivalry with Texas was their form of recreation; their escape. It was important to them. Much more than it was to Texas (I guess that's still true). The verse's construction probably had as much to do with natural competition as it did with just being happy to be noticed. Again, small military school.

Alas, the verse stuck. It what it is and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
