Christ, how did so many bite on such a patently obvious troll?
frick me...
And Arky, why are you on every thread attempting to persuade the masses of your superiority? It's insecurity meets hubris. It's obvious. Silent is what you should be. Now that Petrino is gone, what is left? Players nobody else wanted?
The interesting thing about Arky is that, while they've clearly been a better team than most the last few years, they still receive the most objective, undeniable indication of their natural irrelevance: the fact that nobody wants to go there.
Sure, we can throw out all-time records and recent success on the field in comparison to A&M's, but whose opinion really matters? Those who represent college football's future: recruits. And the fact remains that Arky's recent run has occurred despite kids not giving a frick about them. While that's commendable to a degree, it would humble any reasonable Arky fan knowing that it's simply a matter of time until they slip back into an on-the-field irrelevance that's proportional to their innately inconsequential place in this world.
A&M on the other hand, well, we've managed to lose despite kids wanting to be here -- as evidenced by how we recruit almost every year. Shameful? Of course. Moral victory? No. What we know is that but for the bad coaching the last decade, there are no impediments. And coaching is much easier to furnish than whatever is needed to eradicate the intangible repellant hovering over Fayetville.
Arky gets beside itself when A&M looks down on it all the while eliding over the reality that the "41-24" mark is just as anomalous as their inability to attract talent.
While we're admittedly "less" of a program than much of the SEC as of now, what we don't have are inherent, incurable deficiencies that even winning can't cure. Arky, you can't say that.
All that being said, who gives a shite really?
