so this might happen once or twice every ten years. the SEC champion and/or UT/OU will be in the top 4 just about every year

I think this is some kind of play to (against the Big 10/Pac 12) to enforce top 4 teams in playoffs, regardless of conference championship.

If a non-national title game SEC champ doesn't play in the Sugar Bowl I'll be disappointed.
