"Dark Horse" is a term that began as horse racing parlance (according to Wiki), which described a race horse that is not known to gamblers and thus is difficult to place betting odds on. So, the "dark horse" team would be the one we can't make an accurate prediction about because know the least about that team.
In the SEC, the least is know about A&M. We have a new coach and staff, we will be breaking in a new QB, and will be changing defensive schemes from 3-4 to 4-3. So, in my opinion, based on the original meaning of the term, A&M is the SEC dark horse.
Now, if you want to ask me about odds, I think it's commonly understood and expected by most CFB fans, including A&M fans, that A&M has little chance of ending up with much better than a .500 record, much less the SECCG, and even less so, the NCG in Miami. LSU and Alabama for the win on that one. Hats off to y'all two.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

I would have said Tennessee before those awful Dooley quotes posted yesterday.

South Carolina. They could be very dangerous if they can get solid play from Shaw and Lattimore can return to his previous form. That's a lot of ifs though.

USC and UGA both have a shot. Ark would have a chance it they were in the east.

I select Alabama
But, if it is Georgia, can we then complain about how they didn't have to play any tough teams from the west?
It would fit in with Alabama not deserving because they didn't win the conference and LSU not deserving because it had 2 losses and got in through the back door

We can't be a dark horse. We're already the favorite.

So if we go undefeated, beat everyone on our schedule and win the NCG you would lump that in with Alabama and LSU getting in when there was an argument? Tha frick?

I wouldnt say UGA because i believe the schedule sets up to where if UGA handles business, they have 1a game to win in Atlanta
Ill say as a darkhorse SCAR or Arky, dont see either one doing it but to me they are dark horses with the best shot

Dark horse? Not UGA, they could bump off LSU or Bama in the SECCG and make it to Miami. Would be surprising but not out of the question.
I'd think the SEC darkhorse is Arkansas. They have the talent in place, and if they play surprisingly well with their interim coach, they could conceivably beat both Bama, LSU, and the rest of the west to make it to the SECCG and then Miami. Now that....I'd be really surprised!!!

No because they would have beaten LSU or Bama in the SEC Championship
