Basketball's concept of a conference champ is why I hate watching it.

Kentucky was the SEC champ from this year, not Vandy.

The conference champ system has no impact on me. The lack of talent/excitement is what keeps me from watching.

Oh lawd, thought we had already been over this. Vandy won when it mattered....they are tSEC champs. Kentucky is the National Champions. Just like football with Bama and LSU.

Vandy's trophy says "SEC Tournament Champs".

UK's trophy says "SEC Champs".

This is not MY opinion. It is the SEC's.

So I'm not sure why you continually disagree with me on this. Take it up with Mike Slive if you feel so compelled.

My question then is why do we have conference tournaments? Is it just because NCAA basketball is so post-season happy that they can't resist?

More to the point, THAT is why I don't like basketball.

I don't know. I think the SEC Tourney is kinda stupid. Or keep the SEC Tourney and do away with crowning a regular season champion.

We won the SEC Reg. season title in baseball last year, as well. Same record as both Florida and Vandy, but we took 2/3 from both.

Because they are fun for the fans and more importantly, the student athletes who work all year to get there.

Not to mention that they generate revenue.

I don't understand this. Basketball's post season where they play a great tournament is why you don't like basketball? You enjoy the entire regular season but get turned off by the tournaments? That doesn't make much sense.

Yeah. Co-champions technically. But we were obviously the better team than both.

No, quite the opposite. The 68 team tournament, NIT, and conference tournaments render the regular season very uninteresting.

And no, 3-4 months of basketball for seeding does not make sense.

There's no denying that March Madness is fun to watch, but I'm a purist that doesn't like the regular season mean so little when it occupies 80% of the total season.

How many Division 1 programs are there vying for those spots?

So we need bowl like match-ups in basketball at the end of the regular season?

The NIT makes it "uninteresting"?

How does that work?

Well I'll concede that I don't know if its more the lack of jumps I had growing up, or if its the season/post-season structure, but I'm a damaged soul that doesn't enjoy following bball.

I am very fond of the one-shot drama that is college football.

Like I said, I'm damaged
