Thanks - and yes, on highway trips (longer than an hour), my wrist does get a little sore. I'm on the fence about a throttle lock, otherwise, not too many options available.

I put a Vista Cruise lock on mine, guy at bike shop said it wouldn't work on my bike. It works perfectly. Set your speed and push the locking lever down and it will hold your speed dead on. I'll take some picks of it and post it. The Throttlemeister in another option but more expensive.
I have a Vista-Cruise throttle lock, zerogravity touring windshield, Helix handlebar raisers, GPS, ICON tankbag and mirror extensions. It's is amazing how comfortable a touring bike you can make a Hayabusa

And I call bullshite on your 3 motorcycle collisions per night. If that is the case then coonasses have absolutely no buisness riding motorcycles...
I work at the largest Level I Trauma center in Dallas, Parkland Memorial. We have over 100 beds just in the ED, 6 different I.C.U.'s , and make that hospital of yours look like a ban-aid station. Doubt me, look it up or ask around and see the credentials this trauma facility.

......is Arkansas, I believe. If you are in Dallas you have other things you need to be worried about right now, Stay safe...
UMMC is our level I Trauma center and when I worked there we treated more helicopter accidents(3) then we did motorcycle accidents(1).

Anybody watch the press conference? Missed the first few minutes, but here's what I saw:
BP is in a neck brace. Got in on the video right when he was talking about it. I think he said he'd be in it for at least 2 weeks.
Face looked alright. A few burns. Said he would definitely wear a helmet from now on.
Said he had absolutely nothing to drink, and they did blood tests on him at the hospital.
Good to see him in front of the camera!

I can justify a $11,000.00 street bike because of fuel costs. She would think I had lost my grasp on reality if I rolled up on a $20,000.00+ Harley. I have friends with Harleys though and they just cannot stop putting things on it.
oh lordy man, the bike my dad is giving me is only listed new starting at $9k and the one he has he didn't put much more than $10k in for including a few extras
ETA: this is it when he bought it back in 2009
honestly i want it for how cool it is but also because of the mileage

I figured there was a lot of flaming. That's why I didnt keep up with this thread. I'm just glad he is ok. I may give Arky hell on here, but when it's all said and done, I hate to see another person harmed.

it wasn't all that bad, really just a few bad apples and then funky defining his point into oblivion. mainly just saying he is a dumb arse for riding a bike, which he isn't, and then saying he's dumb for not wearing a helmet, which is dumb
and yea, it was good to hear he is ok, hopefully he has a swift recovery

My little brother had a speed bike. I used to cringe and say a prayer every time he left the house on it. Thankfully, he never got in an accident and he sold the bike not long after he had it.

Funky got a bad rap in this thread. He didn't say anything that wasn't true(in the 3/4 pages I read).

you definitely take a chance every time you ride one, that's for sure
