He just has to put up Glen Coffee circa 2008 numbers to be a successful running back in '12. I bet Coffee wishes he would have stayed his senior year.

Lacy will break the SEC career YPC record, if he gets enough carries this year to qualify.
What is the qualifying number? He might have to contend with McCalleb...
Career stats for O-MAC: 312 carries, 2016 yards, 6.5 ypc...
Career stats for Lacy: 151 carries, 1,080 yards, 7.1 ypc...
I would guess Lacy gets a whole lot more carries that O-MAC for the upcoming season, so his average may see a drop as the season goes on. O-MAC will have a better season than last year so it'll be interesting.

Won't McCalleb be splitting carries with Dy.oh..uhh...wait.
Oh that's right, he went on to greener pastures so to speak.
LOL

What's your point? O-MAC is a scat back and will still share carries with Tre Mason, Mike Blakely, Corey Grant, and possibly Jovon Robinson. We aren't exactly hurting at the RB position.

Much to the chagrin of many on the SEC RANT, Lacy will have comparable numbers to TR. He's not AS talented, but he's very good and the offensive line will be great. Every team saw TR as one of the best players in FB and schemed to stop him. You won't see that to the same degree with Lacy....... at least not for a while. AND, the passing game will be opened up a little next year with an experienced QB. That will give EL more room to spin.
Barring injury, Lacy will have 1,500 yards. Quick, somebody bookmark that.

Are you guys going to a more pro style offense in '12 or are you sticking with the spread?

We aren't very sure, but there should be a good mix...
Loeffler has (and might continure to) run the spread, pistol, pro, etc... Should be interesting at A-Day and the first game against Clemson. I am glad he uses a good variety so that we are hard to prepare for.

Who is big enough to be an every down back in the SEC?

Sounds a lot like McElwain. We used a lot of different formations such as the spread, pistol, etc. even though we were mainly a pro style team.

You mean other than O'Mac?

I think Lacy will blow past Richardson. We have a stable of RB's in Tuscaloosa. Repeat is on the way this year. We will crush someone in the NC game.

Yeah, who steps into the Dyer role?
Posted on 2/13/12 at 6:35 pm to NBamaAlum
Jovon Robinson is already 6'0 220 pounds. Mike Blakely has beefed up to around 210-215. I expect Tre Mason to beef up some this summer. Corey Grant, from what I have heard, is around 205. Corey Grant also won an award for his practice performance at the end of the season. He has put himself in a position to play a lot. Well, they all have...

Blakely is the choice among fans.

You know what makes you such a great poster Scoop? Your humility. A lot of SEC Rant posters could learn a thing from you.

With Mc Heiman slingin' the rock like Timmy Chang, Lacy will eat up huge chunks of yardage on the draw play, he could easily have a record setting season

The Florida transfer? I had heard he was too soft between the tackles. And sorry to hear about your bulldog man

Yes, Florida transfer. But I haven't heard that... He was blowing it up at practice during the season from everything I read. He's even the favorite among the non-Homer type fans.

Preciate it, brah. My other American bulldog seems all depressed now. I had to let her out of the pen and run with her a while today. She wasn;t actng the same, but still loving. She has the most beautiful blue eyes and white coat.
