Basically, your arguement is that Petrino is the best QB coach
Did I post that? I don't think so. No coach or player can be considered “the best” because there are just too many variables. That's why I never get into those "who's the best" discussions because it doesn't matter. There are plenty of great coaches and players in college football and many of them coach and play for the smaller schools. If you don’t think that’s true just go look at the starting lineups for the Super Bowl Teams, where they went to college and what round they were drafted in.
However, I would put Petrino in the “good as there is” category at developing his QB’s and he has a track record to prove it.

Didn't realize that. Apparently the Delaware coach is damn good at developing QBs.

Yeah, Houston Nutt's offense definitely kept Arkansas from producing NFL quarterbacks. Could you really blame him when he had Matt Jones at QB and Darren McFadden as a QB/RB hyrid? Assuming Petrino hangs around for a while longer, there's no doubt he'll continue to get the most out of his QBs.
I'm not even sure if I'd consider South Carolina a pro-style team anymore considering they have adapted more to their personnel. Running the zone read with Shaw and Lattimore in the backfield is a much better option than I-formation play action.

Nice post and I agree with you.
Arkansas will get some looks from some more elite QB prospects in the future.
For me, this year, its UGA. That could change in a couple of years, but hard to argue against UGA as of today.

Disagree. I would think a PAC-10 school would be much more pass happy and thus, the way to go. Though the SEC is reputed for speed (and rightfully so), we really are more smash mouth and defense down here.

It is pretty convenient for him, but he wasn't going to develop a QB. In fact, he let one slip away to a DII school who is now a starter in the NFL...
Off topic...Houston came in my wife's restaraunt the other night with his youngest brother, his wife and Nutt's momma...Now the waiter is a Gator fan and has no issue with him...That said, he swears he heard them talking about Malzahn

Petrino was Jake Plummer's QB coach at Arizona State

Now I will say that its only because UGA is a little shinier than us...
I've heard Mort say on many occasions that Petrino is one of the top guys in the college game due to the amount of pressure put on a QB.
At Arky:
Best option his first year was Casey Dick
Mallett has a big arm, can make calls and read D's...but makes questionable decisions and has zero mobility
Wilson is a blue collar guy without a lot of polish of guys like Barkley, Luck but I think he will be succesful in the pros...may take a few years

Who was Petrino's QB @ Auburn in 2002 Jason Whats-His-Face ?

I'd play at Bama or Georgia before Arky.
Arky comes in 3rd out of 14 IMO.

I guess it really depends on your arm

They have one who is in the NFL as a backup. So not ready to say yes or no. Not enough history at all.

Anyone gets credit for Campbell, it's Borges.
Petrino started Daniel Cobb over Campbell ffs, which should basically end any discussion of Petrino knowing QB talent.

And if you did, you would want to show it off.
See Mallet in 2010
They don't do it at Bama
