I'd think that USCw would be starting to feel the effects of the scholarship reductions, so I'm not sure about their odds.
And LSU lost JJ. How can your odds to win it all be that high when you lose a talent of that caliber?

I like long shots UF(35:1) and UTx (30:1). At some point those teams will come back. They have waaay to much talent not to. Both have relatively easy schedules. That would the only bet on the board worth a gamble IMO. I like Bama at 7/1 I just don't think its our year.

This. Miles doesn't think anyone can step up and replace JJ so they're going straight wildcat baby.

We're not very deep. We don't really have a "big back" to complement the Sproles-like Moody McNeil.
Our D-line is rebuilding, and even though everybody else on defense is back, we didn't have the type of consistent dominant play on that side of the ball (although they were a very young defense).
There is room for optimism though, with Barkley coming back, along with WRs Lee, Woods, and a largely intact OL (though we'll miss Matt Kalil there).
I am not surprised to see Bama at 7/1, Bama has talent in great depth. The Tide loses a lot on defense though, or so I am led to believe.
LSU has, at long last, the pocket presence it's been craving in Mettenberger, along with a whole bunch of young, championship caliber players coming back. Not much to hate there, but I will say that a first year starter almost always guarantees you lose 2 games you might have won with experience at that position. The counter to that would be that Mett has experience starting elsewhere, but elsewhere is not LSU.

I'm assuming Tennessee's odds are a million to one. I accept.

quote:If Ash can play up to the level of McElroy, the 09 edition, then I think we will have a definite shot at a BCS game, and maybe an outside shot at the title game. We'll have 3 stud running backs toting the rock, along with one of the best secondaries and D-Lines in the country. My main concerns are whether the O-Line will continue to improve like they did towards the end of this year whether or not we can get some production out of a WR not named Shipley (paging Mike Davis). We have DBs with All-American potential in Carrington Byndom, Quandre Diggs, and Kenny Vaccaro; as well as other potential All-Americans in Jordan Hicks, Jackson Jeffcoat (if he stays healthy), and possibly Alex Okafor. I'd say one player to watch out for next year will be DeMarco Cobbs, who will step into a hybrid S/OLB role, mostly replacing Emmanuel Acho though.
I like long shots UF(35:1) and UTx (30:1)
I think that's a nice little synopsis over the 2012 edition of the Horns.

If it makes you feel any better, I still get sick thinking about our game against Bama and what could have been

Notice anything special about 4 of the top 6?

This will be their last good year for a while, especially considering they only really lost their Starting LT, and Barkley is coming back, along with almost all of his WR corps.

I wouldn't bet on that. They've recruited very well through all of this.

Who's he going to throw the ball to though?
