...you think Josh Harrelson used his "athletic" ability to be a stud last year...you are right, Cal can not coach a lick.
Why must you try to twist every statement I make. I didn't say he couldn't coach. I just said he would not be considered elite (anywhere other than KY) until he wins a NCAAC.
Ky went as deep in the NCAA last year in large part due to Harrelson, a senior. Cal is hurt by the fact that he recruits too well. If he had a few more 4 year players, I think his chances of winning it all increase. Look at Butler, not the most talented team but they had a good run. Uconn had several upperclassmen as well.
Your argument is proving my point. It is hard for freshmen to be leaders. Basketball is not just about talent, if it was KY would be undefeated.
Tennessee has nowhere near the talent of KY, but they had a chance to beat you at Knoxville. They will be a tough out in the tournament. VDY can be formidable, and MSU is greatly improved this year. I expect a competitive SEC tourny, and as always KY will be in the thick of it. But at least 5 teams are likely to have a say in it this year.
Ky will not compete for NCAA unless Teague's play greatly improves and Jones gets back to last year's form.
Lamb is your best and most consistent player. Davis and Kidd will continue to improve. I don't see any freshmen who should leave early. If they don't, next year will be your year.

KY has to be one of the most talented teams in the country, but Cal only plays about 7 people. I think KY is deeper than that but Cal does not trust his depth. It will have to be developed if he wants to go far in the tournament.
Kinda like when we got to the final four last year only playing 6 guys? it's all about getting hot at the right time. Depth helps but its not the most important thing
Name the last team to win a NCAAC playing 6 people.

No he's not. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is. And you'd know that if you'd be making your assessment about this UK team on more than just a game and some stats.
Also UConn was young last year as well. Walker was one of a handful of upperclassmen on that team.
Cal isn't much further along in his career than several other big name guys such as Coach K, Roy Williams, Boeheim, and others when they won their first NCAA Championship. Cal's got time and can coach.
Notre Dame doesn't have anywhere near the talent of Syracuse but guess who's winning that game? That's why they play the games. How about giving your team some credit for a well played game instead of trying to "dumb down" UK cause you're annoyed that you lost.

A lot of butthurt on those last few pages.
Alabama played strong, but Kentucky always had an answer for Alabama's big shots.
Damn you Brow man for that block........damn you

IMO Lamb is your best and most consistent player, as he leads your team in points per game, 3 point % shooting, and minutes per game even though he does not start.
Bama did play better than their last few performances, in a very hostile environment, and I do credit their competitive spirit.
Uconn had significant contributions from Walker (JR), Oriakhi(SO) and their center Okwandu (SR).
If your present FR class stays, I think KY wins it next year. You may need to recruit a PG because I am not sold on Teague. He was owned by Releford and he shoots 50% from the line. Not good for most end of game scenarios.

We won't necessarily need to recruit a PG to start. Ryan Harrow, NC State transfer, will step in for Teague (if he goes). And having seen him in a couple practices he's a better floor leader, needs to work on his shot.

At first I was looking forward to my first basketball season posting here. I was wrong, 90% of this board is awful when discussing basketball.

It's about championships at Kentucky bball wise, just like it is with us in football, and you haven't won shite since the Tubby days, and won't win anything with the one and done coach you have,it takes team chemistry to win a championship and his players don't stay around enough to develop any...
Deny it all you want but the facts are on my side...
How does KY BB get away from this. I actually hate the rule. The NBA should make the kids wait 3 yrs like the NFL. They might get more mature kids in the league. CBB would definitely have better play. I honestly hate it for KY. I'd like to see what their Calipari could do with 3 yrs of these top 5* guys they get every year.

I highly doubt our classes would have looked the same if this rule was in place. In fact, this rule would hurt teams like UK IMO, because a lot of guys we are getting would go elsewhere due to lack of playing time available at UK. These kids want to get to the league, not sit the bench in college.
