I called my mother about 15 minutes before kickoff to share a "ROLL TIDE" with her over the phone. She's 86 years old and a resident in an Assisted Living Nursing Home in Gadsden Alabama. In the background I could hear a big commotion with lots of yelling and cheering. I asked my Mother what the noise was and she said it was a Pep Rally in the TV viewing room. Now keep in mind this is a nursing home filled with people mostly in their 80s and they were all gathered for a Pep Rally cheering and yelling for Alabama to win the BCSNCG. I smiled to myself picturing that scene after I hung up the phone walking back to my seat in the Superdome. I called my mother today and she answered the phone "Roll Tide". It's clear order has been restored and all is right in the universe.

That's a great story; thanks for sharing.

My mom is 90 and lives alone in a house she and my deceased dad built in the early 50s. I call her often, and we never fail to talk about Alabama football. She's usually upset with some of the folks in her Sunday School class that are Auburn fans. That's just the way it is in Alabama.

Yes. Please, keep saying similar garbage and continue isolating yourself and your fanbase. You are doing us a favor.

Why not go and watch the game WITH her...since she won't be around much longer? THAT would have been a better story........

So because Bama fans are answered the phone with "Roll Tide" order has been restored? Do bama fans only say "Roll Tide" when they're winning?

I think it is an awesome story.

I went to see my 86 year old uncle the other day. He knew I went to NOLA and the first thing he mentioned was the game. We talked about it for a while. My aunt doesn't watch football, so he doesn't have anyone to talk about it with. It was a very special moment. I still remember watching LSU games with my grandfather. I miss him every time football season comes around because those are very special moments that you don't really appreciate as much until they are no longer with you.
