Just wait until pre season rankings come out before the season starts and UGA and USCe are ahead of us.

Davis is really good. Statistically, he had a better sophomore year than Marcus's freshman year. Marcus was the 2nd rusher in the NCAA when we went down this year.

Marcus is an elite talent, but doesn't have the blazing speed of Davis, I agree with that; but have you seen the guy play? Our OL was not very good for most of first half of the season, and he was the ONLY offense we had. Teams were scheming against him, and he was winning for us by himself.

I'm personally of the opinion that Davis and Latt are both elite talent. Latt is a one man team most of the time and unfortunately it has gotten him injured a couple years in a row(dude gets like 30 carries a game minimum). Davis is faster on the top end and can really put on a show when he gets going. The difference that I see between the two is that Davis can't become a one man team like latt does, he just doesn't break tackles as well.

Agree

Not this again.

His injury this year was a fluke (he was blocking and got rolled up on), nothing to do with workload.

In his 7 games this year, he rushed more than 30 times, once.

I do agree that for most of the year, he was 90% of our offense. They were stacking the box, and he was still gutting out 3-4 yards per carry.

I like Davis, and obviously am biased, but I'm gonna stick with Marcus.

The reason I attribute his injury to the large amount of times he got the ball is probability. If you get the ball more you get hit more therefore you will get injured more.

After looking at his stats your right he didn't get it a min of 30 times a game that was a little bit of an exageration. However he averaged 23 rushes a game which is several but reasonable. He averages 26 touches a game though. Which is enough to increase the probability of him getting injured much higher....that isn't including blocking which is another way freak accidents can happen. Latt was a pretty active blocker wasn't he?

ETA: When he rushed for nearly 200 yards against UGA, it was his second game since HIGH SCHOOL. That's a pretty big deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there only one team ranked better than 80th in the country in rush defense (Georgia) that Lattimore ran for over 100 yards on in a game before he got injured last season? I'm not saying rushing for 250 yards against Navy isn't impressive, but I would have liked to see him put up that performance against several difficult defenses in a row.

And yes, I know you didn't have a Ryan Mallett at QB, which can open up the field some, so I'd like to see how big of an impact it makes when you have a capable QB. Hopefully next season?

I've seen him play and he is impressive, yes. I'm not even necessary saying that Davis is much better, if at all better, than him...but to say that Davis a complete level below Lattimore is a bit of a stretch.

As far as Bama RB's go, I believe that we might see a Terry Grant/Mark Ingram situation where Lacy appears to be the clear #1 based on his backing TR this year but Hart could come out of Spring with a distinct advantage.

It's also hard to predict what the freshmen might do but I think a True Frosh is a long shot to get any significant playing time.

Man, what do Bama fans have against Lacy? He's impossible to stop with 1 player...Or do you just think one of your backups is better for some reason? I've always been super impressed with Lacy.

at the pig fans that think they will switch Trey Willaims. Matt Davis is already on campus and he, Bralon Addison, Trey Williams, and Kenneth Marshall (also already on campus)are the biggest names in Houston football ... they are also all good friends. The only school that even slightly worries me is Ok State but not even they concern me too much.

Are Aggie fans still feeling good about Trey Williams now that the RB coach wasn't retained?

I don't know about Davis and Lattimore. They are top names and top talents...just not sure they strong they come back. Davis probably has a better shot considering that he has had more time to heal. Lattimore SHOULD be the top back in the SEC in 2013 though.

I'm really excited about Corey Grant next year for AU. From what I've heard, he has been busting his tail this season and has a good chance to contend for a starting RB spot next season for us. Doubt he will be a top 5 RB next year, but he should have a great season.

Yes. Everything he's done, from wearing our gear in numerous interviews and what he's said in interviews, indicates we are still firmly in the lead and he's just taking a look around. His best friends, Matt Davis (early entry already on campus) and Bralon Addison will most likely be here as well.

We've been burned before but I'd be surprised if he isn't at A&M. And supposedly he's more likely to switch to OSU than Arkansas if he does.

Wasn't the RB coach just let go today, though? Has Williams commented on that? It was my understanding that he'd remain firmly committed as long as you guys retained that coach. If Arkansas can't have him, I'd much rather he went to OSU.

I don't think he has the speed of Ingram or Richardson is why he isn't as highly thought of by some folks. He just looks like a bruising, knock the shite out of you and get a few more yards kind of back to me. Personally, I would love to have him but I can see why they might not be as high on him after having a Heisman winner and Heisman runner-up the last few years.

I guess so. I was relieved Lacy didn't run the ball that much against us. He's the kind of back that keeps drives going. Maybe not a home run threat, but definitely respectable speed. I'd be surprised if Ingram was that much faster, if at all.

He's been gone awhile. I haven't seen any public comments from Williams about it specifically but he's continued to rep A&M. And I would much rather him go to OSU than Arkansas obviously if he does switch.

Huh. Comments I read today, all of the sudden, were stating that Randy Jordan was "let go" officially today.

It may have become official today (I'm not sure) but Clarence McKinney, from UH, has been our RB coach for at least a week or so now, even if it wasn't in name. I'm guessing Williams probably knew what the coaching situation would look like under the new coaching staff way before any fan sites did as well.

It would be crushing if we lost Williams and the way this season has gone I guess I should expect it, but it certainly appears he will be at A&M.
