Are Bama's WRs overcompensating for the fact that they are terrible?

3 senior Bama WRs who have a combined 2 recieving TDs on the year (against Kent State and Ole Miss btw) have let the world know how much better they are than LSU.

quote:

"We're still a national championship team," Maze said after the LSU loss. "I feel like we're still the best team in the country. Anything can happen."

And if there were a rematch?

"Yes, I think we're the best team in the country," he said. "I think if we played them again, we wouldn't lose."

quote:

"I lick my chops, basically," Hanks said.

quote:

"I think we definitely have a chance of seeing those guys again if we finish strong," said Bama wide receiver Darius Hanks, who added that the Crimson Tide were "definitely" superior to LSU.

quote:

"It's exciting to go back and play against these guys again. They're arguably the No. 1 team in the country. We're going out to prove ourselves."

Gibson was asked to clarify his use of the word "arguably."

"I have faith in my team, and I believe we are the best team in the country,"

Players on the #2 team in the nation want to play for the championship and have confidence and faith in their team?

Those quotes are actually pretty mild. They aren't dissing LSU in any way.

Sort of off topic, but:

Has Bama recruited a WR taller than 6'3 since the 2008 recruiting class?

why are you so worried about the Bama WRs? They suck according to you, right? Then they shouldn't even be a thought to an LSU fan.

Besides, as bad as they suck they are in the exact same position as your team - playing for the national championship.

(we all know this is really about your continued efforts to convince yourself there is nothing to worry about on the 9th. it clearly isn't working yet, but maybe it will soon)

Marquis "Uncle Rico" Maize.

If that wire hadn't interfered with my catch, I'd have run one back on LSU. Things woulda been different. Who do they think they are? I'll back up ALL my talk next game, unless my ankle hurts a little.

it is rather puzzling as to why a scrub like brandon gibson would be talking about missed opportunities.

With TR, they are a championship caliber team. If he gets hurt, they're screwed. I don't like putting so much of your offense on one player. Isn't he like 60% of their total yards this year?

Perhaps they feel this way because Bama had legit chances to put LSU away, Bama never trailed in regulation and - according to many in the media - Bama outplayed LSU in that game.

That's just a guess though.

Maze had a decent game - 6 receptions for 61 yards. But the other guys did exactly jack shite. Hanks had 2 catches. Gibson had zero.

As a group the had less than 200 yards receiving and zero TDs.

They really ought to STFU.

Ok, well he's going to look like a dumbass if he doesn't have a good game, but why does this bother you so much?
