Not football, but the one guy that could have altered history for Arkansas hoops was Emeka Okafor

Okafor was supposedly a heavy Razorback lean for a long time and ended up at UCONN 2 seasons later Nolan went haywire, then we lose out on Kendrick Perkins, and the next year Al Jefferson ends up going pro.

The Hogs had no inside presence at all at the end of Nolan's era, Okafor could have been the diff. to NR's career ending as a dumpster fire or it continuing as a legit contender.

Football-wise, I don't really pay attention to recruits that go elsewhere unless they're overhyped 5star douchers, then we cheer their failures and bad games and ignore their successes.

Played dumb kid deserves more respect than that

Cam Newton wouldn't have won State the ship, State didn't have half the surround pieces that Auburn did last year. No Ziemba, Isom, Pugh, Adams, Fairley, etc

Speaking of Mike Davis

Yeah, he definitely took a step backwards for us this season. He's dropped too many passes that he's gotten his hands on...killer for a team with inexperience at the QB position.

He showed a lot of promise last year so hopefully he can turn things around.

I've thought about this too. Why was he suspended?

All time- Eric "Trans A&M" Dickerson or Drew Brees- Dickerson chose SMU over us obviously as seen in the documentary, and we could have had Brees as both his parents went to A&M and he wanted to play for us but we passed (as most others did). Brees could have really put us over the top in the late 90's when we had many of the other pieces in place.

Recently- there's been a few but Corey Nelson, OU LB, comes to mind. He was committed to us and burned us on signing day, he could have made a huge difference for us this year.

To the guy that said Cam wouldn't have had as good a supporting cast at State as he did at Auburn, Pernell McPhee, Derek Sherrod, KJ Wright, Chris White, fletcher Cox, johnathan banks disagree. Cam had you guys playing on an entirely different level. I think he could have done something very similar at State. Who knows? Who cares? No sense in being bitter or asking the "what if" He went to AU and you guys killed it.

Cam is definitely the one that got away.

MSU had a better defense and a very similar offense outside of the QB position. MSU with Cam would have been in the national title hunt last year. No doubt in my mind

Sure there defense was ten fold better but they didn't have the WRs, RBs, OC(dpm

I'll agree that Dyer was better than Ballard, but Ballard is good enough to where it's not just a blowout. Can't judge Miss St's wide receivers because they have no one to throw to them, but I think Bumphis would start for Auburn. They don't have anyone to compete with Lutz. So if you trade Cam to Miss St, you're basically looking at Auburn last year with a MUCH better defense, not quite as good but still good rb, unknown at wr but probably similar.

And as far as OC goes, Mullen hasn't done shite without Tebow and Malzahn hasnt done shite without Cam. Seems like a wash to me, but Mullen is HC at an SEC school and Malzahn is HC at Arky St.

I have to disagree with a couple of these statements:

Auburn had the best O-Line in the country last year. Bumphis would not have started over Darvin, T-Zach, or Kodi last year....because they we're all good size and could BLOCK. Plus MSU's WRs dropped A LOT of passes last year....plus NO NICK FAIRLEY at MSU

As far as OC, Malzahn has always done, save 2011. Look where his offenses ranked since his first OC job in 2006....

2006 - #20 Arkansas
2007 - #1 Tulsa
2008 - #1 Tulsa
2009 - #16 Auburn
2010 - #3 Auburn

He only had Cam 1 season....

For LSU Dez Bryant but it was Les' fault. He was dying to go to LSU but grades and us wanting Terrance Toliver led to us turning him away. Toliver was a good Tiger and had a solid career but Bryant he was not.

Lately the guy that stung was Janzen Jackson. I don't care that he turned out to be a nutcase, when on the field the guy was a stud. I have the feeling that at LSU his story would've been considerably different. Sometimes the culture and people around a person brings out the bad side of their personality. His dad is the biggest frickjob in his life.

Speaking on Keenan Allen,I'm glad that kid got involved with the handlers because he's a stud. I always thought he was a better S than wr but Bama saw his talent as a wr ahead of most of us. The Bama fans that are really tuned in to recruiting knew he was gone a couple of weeks before signing day. It was pretty clear that he was gone when Maynard and mom tried to get Bama to hand him a scholarship. Allen's good but not worth taking Maynard for. The DT that was with them and the wr last year weren't worth it either though they were good prospects. Allen was by far the best of the group.
