I did not know that this posting was only about college. Still, Ohio is the cradle of football..there is no doubt.

What about 1951 Tennessee? They went undefeated and were AP and UPI champions. Maryland also went undefeated and finished 2nd. They played in a bowl game. Maryland won. So you really think that system was credible?

Bowl games were exhibitions at the time, a lot of you seem to have major difficulty with that concept.

I'd venture to say that if you are talking about states that are or have been influential to college football, lots of them would be ahead of Arkansas, even with all of the coaches who have lived there.

@ Benchy.

All of the Bowdens and Nick Saban could be added! That's off the top of my head. And Wallace Wade and Shug Jordan, and Frank Thomas...

I think it was established that it was TrollTyde3 or something like that... I have to check with TT to be sure, seeing as he's the one who found him

Also good to see you, hope you're doing well.

Yup... Getting in Friday Morning and checking in The Roosevelt Hotel... Funny thing is the hotel is like a 20 min walk from the Dome, but it will be impossible to walk with all the traffic and many people having their first NOLA experience. Also close proximity to Bourbon, I have a flight to BR on the 10th @ 7:00 pm to get back for the next semester... I'm really worried I wont make, but that's life, I digress

I know exactly where the Roosevelt is... it's a really good spot. I don't think you'll have trouble walking, especially if you stay away from the busy streets. Many roads lead to the Dome!

I've got to run go meet some people for a late lunch and then go Christmas shopping. Arrrgh.

Glover went to Woodlawn to assist for Parker and then took the HC job when Parker retired.

The connection between those two is that Parker recruited and coached Glover at The Cidital.

Was Buck James at Camden after you graduated? Also, did you know two guys, Freeman and Knutson, that played at Camdon?

Yea, I had Coach Glover sophomore year and Coach James JR. and SR. year. Went from the wishbone to the spread.

I can't say I know them, I'm pretty young. I didn't think I was that young until I moved to Manhattan, frick everyone is old here. I was talking to a girl at a bar yesterday I thought was 26 tops, she was 35.

Edit: Sorry to everyone that was just offended by the above post.

Absolutely.
Arkansas has dominated College Football for the past 50 years. When people think of college football, the first name that comes to mind is Arkansas.

Great point. Debunks this silly thread.
