Everyone agreed to follow the current system of selection the champion. If they didn't then they are more then welcome to join the NCAA sponsor playoff and win the national championship there, the one that is actually endorsed by the NCAA. You don't need to play in the BCS system if you don't like it.

Did you ever bother to read the BCS website?

quote:

The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is a five-game showcase of college football. It is designed to ensure that the two top-rated teams in the country meet in the national championship game

NO WHERE DOES IT SAY 2 BEST TEAMS.
The 2 best teams met already. Its not about the best matchup...you need playoffs for that. Its about who earned their way. The media and bama manipulated the system....it is what is.

quote:

This robust system of post-season bowl games offers rewards for teams and places a great premium on the regular season.

WTF?

No matter now they get beat.....again.

Any time it doesn't work out perfectly, there's controversy. The BCS ran out of luck.

Bama is the second best team. There is a small debate on who deserved it, although it was squashed two weeks ago.

SABAN voted Okie State #5.

So did the Missouri coach and a handful of others.

Did they really believe that? #5. After who? LSU, BAMA, Stanford and what? Boise?

I think the two best teams are matched up but the system is terrible. It is obvious that a plus one is needed at the very least. No matter what you think about this year, situations like Auburn in 2004 make the system unacceptable. Bama and OSU didn't take care of business and caused a cluster. 2007 was a cluster because everyone had 2 losses. Auburn took care of business in the SEC and didn't even have a chance. Imagine this year if Stanford and OSU had won out. There would be no right answer except someone is getting screwed.

Only one coach voted them 5th and it wasn't Saban. You're a great researcher.

It says "the two top-rated teams" in the part you quoted...not sure what your point is.

Will you and the rest of the LSU fanbase spend the entire next month bitching about who LSU has to play?
Has there ever been a team in the championship that has complained even a fraction as to what you rantards have done, just in the past 24 hours?

It really is a silly argument. Bama lobbied but OSU lost too late in the season to a bad team. Bama was sitting at second and OSU was at 6th in the human polls with one game left each. People are acting like it was a conspiracy but everyone buried them when the lost to ISU. They just couldn't get from 6 to 2 in the human poll in 2 weeks with Bama taking care of their business. People were so against the rematch they forgave all of OSU's sins.

. We were rated 2 in the AP, Harris, Coaches, BCS, and 2 out of 6 computers. We were one of the top two rated teams. I don't see the issue.

Les put bama at number 2? He's not scared. Suppose it is a good thing he isn't such a pussy.

Two teams with strong arguments. The voters believed bama has a stronger case this year. It's over. FFS deal with it.
