What would you say is more impressive and telling of how good they are. Alabama's loss to LSU? Any one of OSU's very close wins over mediocre teams? Or Stanford's win over USC? Rank them. You could say Stanford's win over USC was more impressive than any win OSU had. And Alabama's LOSS was more impressive than many of OSU's wins.

The only close wins were against texas a&m and texas who is ranked #24 in the final bcs poll.

Why should I just have to rank those? Why can't I rank their overall schedules by what they accomplished?
I would go OSU>Bama>Stanford

Ok. What's their second best win? Or third? Or fourth?
That's where that argument falls apart.
