It seems like this is the consensus with the media. I hate how people look at the bowl records and try to make this claim. Nobody seems to mention that the SEC teams get bowl tie ins with teams that have better records in their own conference and we still usually beat them.

Yea, I notice this to be a yearly theme as well.

4 teams in the top 10? 2 teams in the NCG?

Down year.

it's always "outside of team a, b, c, d, e" the SEC isn't that good.

Well no shite, the bottom half of the conference isnt that good while the top half dominates? WTF do you want?

The SEC was horrible this year.. AU, UF, Ole Miss and UT were putrid. R Kansas was one of the weakest teams I have seen in years.

Easy cake walk for Bama and LSU (Although we did have to play UGA)

Yep. People say this just about every year for some reason.

My favorite metric is # of teams ranked in the final AP poll, but you can look at regular season OOC too.

I think the SEC only lost 6 games this season, which is much lower than normal.

It usually is unwarranted, but I do believe that this year has been an overall down year for the SEC.

I really don't understand why everyone says this every year. Of course sone teams in the SEC don't have that good of a record when we all play each other somebody has to lose right?

And it's almost always colored by what people think of SEC-vs.-SEC matchups too, which really makes no sense at all.
