Wally Hall reported after the game that the night before the game Petrino had come down with a mild case of strep throat and after being advised by the trainers he may be contagious he didn't want to infect Miles leading up the SECCG and NC. He was offered a surgical mask so he could speak with Miles but he didn't want to look ridiculous so he just did a quick shake. Pretty classy move if you ask me.

So Petrino gets blasted for pointing at his "friend" Miles, then gets called a pussy for trying to prevent Miles for getting sick? Sounds like CBS and the whole Tiger nation owes Petrino an apology.
The "Oh WOW" by Les Miles was probably a reaction to how nasty Petrino's cough was.

It's a lose-lose for Petrino. He gives a quick shake to preserve Miles' health and gets lambasted for it. But if he had worn the surgical mask and stood there talking to Les he would have been ridiculed and people would think he had SARS.
