Oklahoma State stood a much better chance last week:

Alabama could have lost: They didn't. Blowout

They were supposed to stay #2 in 4/6 of the computers and make up ground: They didn't. Actually it's a complete reversal and Alabama is now #2 in 4/6 computers. Computer superiority going into Bedlam is no longer an option.

They're supposed to, eventually, get all the #3 votes and 25% of the #2's. They didn't come close. No 1 cares.

VA Tech was supposed to cooperate and lose. They didn't and have you seen Clemson?

They were supposed to gain the anti-SEC, anti-rematch votes: They DID do this. All 5 of them.

So now the odds changed from 95% lock for Alabama to 99.99%.

Yet LSU fans have been riding the cowboys harder than usual this week.

Alabama is a done deal. Get over it already.

College gameday will be at Atlanta, not Stillwater btw. No 1 give's a shite.

The odds of them getting thereare 1,000,000 to 1.

Wasn't LSU #7 in the BCS in 2007 going into the SEC Championship game? So, I ain't betting anything right now.

Agree with most of the OP.

However the following statement misses the mark bigtime . . .

Bama's upward move vs OSU in the computers is d/t Bama winning during an idle OSU week. That's it. The computers will flip back if (and it's a big if) OSU beats OU.

The big difference between last week and this week was the fact that this week neither the Harris or Coaches Poll reconsidered the idiocy of OSU ranked behind Stanford and VT. Admittedly it was a bad week to be idle, but I was expecting OSU to be #4 at a minimum. I just don't see that changing enough to make a difference. FWIW, they are #3 in the AP, as they should be.

After the Bedlam game, they should pass Alabama back up in the computers. If they don't, they don't. They have to win it first, and that's a tough game for anyone.

If VT loses and Oklahoma St wins, start sweating. If both Ok St and VT wins.. you should just be a little nervous. If Oklahoma St loses, congrats on the chance to steal a NC with a fluke victory over a superior team
