If LSU and Houston win out, it should be those two

Maybe in a year when LSU hadn't played a really good non conference schedule or the next best teams according to polls haven't already had their chance, then I would see 1-loss teams getting a shot, but this year I just think the best scenario for CFB is letting the two undefeateds decide it on the field. The built in advantage of strength of schedule is that it took all the good teams losing to give Houston a chance. And yeah, LSU might wipe the floor with them, but they have already beaten all comers already and would still be the rightful MNC champion. And should Houston beat LSU, well then they would have also proved they were better than the de facto best team in the land.

Houston hasn't played anyone in the top 25. GTFO.

Who cares? LSU has beaten every other top 10 they have played, and the others couldn't keep their shite together to stay undefeated. Back in 2007 I agreed with the media that said a team should have to win its conference to have a chance to play for the MNC, even though I was pissed they only apparently wanted to apply it to UGA that year. I think they should have made it an official rule from the beginning considering that teams can't play everyone in the country to truly decide who is better. In the few instances that they have, it is ludicrous to have rematches of any sort. Like I stated, yep Houston's schedule was far worse then others, but it took tons of teams losing to even give them a shot so they have already overcome a decided built-in disadvantage. Bama, Arkansas, Oregon already had direct or will have direct shots at LSU. Virginia Tech may win its conference and OSU may win its conference. Stanford has a slim chance to get to its conference championship game, However, they all lost , so yeah I think Houston deserves its shot.

So, what you are saying is, let's reward programs that play nobody and hope the big boys knock each other out?? Sounds reasonable.

i still can't believe Boise St fricked up their only chance to get in.. if they went undefeated, they were in easily this year.

I disrespectfully disagree.

LSU does not have participate in the SECCG or BCSCG is they make it. No one is making them, they can just stay home if it is so objectionable to them.

What if they just didn't show up

SEC championship and a chance at a national championship >> a chance at a national championship

You should probably find a hobby besides following college football - you're not very good at it.

I don't see any SEC team running for the hills of the C-USA just to get a national championship shot.....like I said, to even reach this point, it took a ridiculous amount of upsets to reach this point. I HATE the system as it stands now, but it is the system in place, and while it is in place, my personal opinion is no rematches from regular season and no non-conference winners. Simple as that.

And pass up stomping your arse in NOLA. Fat chance.
Not to mention that would have been our 3rd win over the great Saban in less than 2 years.
IDK how you gumps will survive after it.
We don't lose in domes, we don't lose BCS games, and we don't lose(normally) with a month to prepare. Saban on the other hand has a somewhat less impressive track record with the those variables.

This is classic Boise reasoning. Put down SEC teams for playing too many patsies, but turn around and say teams that play almost nothing but patsies have "done all they could be asked to do" if they win out.

I would probably make up a fake life about being a jock sniffing trainer to tell this board, because my real life would be such a fricking disaster that psychologically I would need to create a false one.
How fricking pathetic would that be?
