Holy shite. Flip over to the UT game to understand what I'm getting at. I'm all for going OOC for officials every week. These guys just don't have a fricking clue.

Tennessee player intercepted in OT, then stumbled. Side-judge ref couldnt see his knees because of a vanderbilt player, but signaled that he was down and blew his whistle. No one else signaled that he was down and Tenn ran it back for a touchdown.

Later reviewed that he never touched the ground with his knee. Tenn wins.

But the explanation was that there was never a whistle

The ref that blew the whistle was the one who called him down.

Glad they got that call right, it was a great pick 6 play. Would have been a shame if the officiating robbed it.

The problem is, you can't change the play once the whistle is blown. They fricked up, sucks for UT but they still had the ball in position to win, and the refs could give a makeup call to make sure they won anyway, but that review was bullshite.

How do you come out, blatantly lie, and then stay with the lie after there's clear replay of the whistle blowing? You can't do that bullshite.

It was definitely the right call. But that whistle did blow. Glad it didn't cost UT the game.

The end result of the call was correct. However, they broke a rule to get to the end result. SEC officials just don't have the brain capacity to do a stellar job.

When the whistle blows the play is dead. When the ball was intercepted the ref didn't run down the field with the ball. No, he blew his whistle and ran out to the spot waving his hands to stop the clock/play. The review was complete bull shite. Everybody and their brother could hear the whistle blowing in the replay and you can see the ref holding the whistle in his mouth blowing it.
