No not you, but as we have all seen this week, that's been like half the posts on SEC Rant and all the talking media heads and radio etc. have been bringing up this hypothetical situation like it has already happened. I get the fact that it would be intriguing, and obviously, stranger things have happened, but I just don't think (and hope lol) it's gonna come to that.

I can see voters pulling their hair out trying to fill out that ballot
bama beat ark
ark beat lsu
lsu beat bama
all 11-1.
You're giving the voters too much credit. The Harris Poll is made up of the local media types we all gripe about as being idiots and washed up coaches or media types. The Coaches Poll is a bunch of GAs filling out a ballot. Certainly they should go back and look at body of work, but they won't. They're far too short-sided to put LSU ahead of Arkansas 36 hours after Arkansas would've beaten LSU in Baton Rouge.

Why do you think the voters would put Arky ahead of everyone except Alabama, when their only good victory the whole year would have been against LSU, and they struggled against three very mediocre teams and were blown out by Bama? Oregon hasn't struggled with anyone except LSU, Oklahoma hasn't struggled with anyone except Tech, and LSU hasn't struggled with anyone except Bama. Do you think the voters are going to forget that Arky had to come from behind late against crappy A&M and Ole Miss, and should have lost to Vandy?

I think if LSU loses the SECCG, they would probably still go to the BCSCG
There's no question about this in my mind. LSU can clinch their ticket to the national title game with wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas.

Jeff, not sure where I said that. Just said Arky would be ahead of LSU.

Yes. People seem to think these voters are some holy, all-knowing people. In reality, they're your local sports guys on your local Fox channel and washed up football types in the Harris Poll, and a bunch of GAs actually filling out ballots in the Coaches Poll.

lsu would still have the edge in the computer polls, so it would take the majority of voters in both polls to move lsu behind arkansas.
remember its not just where you were ranked but how many votes you get in each poll at each spot.
its way more complicated than you are making it to seem. also, the voters will recognize they are basically determining the likely national title competitors with that vote, since espn will DRILL that into out heads over the air waves.

Can't read this whole thread from work, so not sure if posted, but I agree with this.
quote:
4. If Arkansas beats LSU then Arkansas will still be ranked behind Alabama, who crushed the Razorbacks, and LSU.
Here's why: because Arkansas is presently sixth in the BCS standings.
No pollsters will jump you above Alabama, the team that destroyed you, and LSU won't fall far enough for you to jump them. (It's possible that even with a loss to Arkansas LSU wouldn't fall below two since it would still have head-to-head wins over the number three and four teams in America.) Meanwhile, Arkansas can't advance above Alabama. So Alabama and LSU will be the top two teams in the BCS standings. In a three-way SEC tie, the top two teams in the BCS head-to-head governs.
That means LSU is going to the title game and Alabama would be the SEC's second BCS selection.
Again, barring a complete collapse and two losses in the final three games of the season, LSU will be in the SEC title game, and the national title game.
Arkansas won't even make the BCS even if finishes the season 11-1. I'm not saying it's necessarily fair, but it is reality.

That's my point, the voters are going to have a hard time dropping LSU behind Oregon and Bama and Arky. You keep saying they will drop behind Arky, but Arky has to also pass Oregon and Oklahoma to do that. I doubt the voters drop LSU behind all of those teams.

I didn't know you were so argumentative---that must be how you get down on the field

If ark beats lsu, i see it being Ark>LSU>Bama in the human polls.
Why is Ark ahead of Bama? because that loss to bama was on the road and imo this is the key - EARLY IN THE YEAR. It could be argued that the Ark team that beats LSU in Death Valley is better and improved from the Ark team that lost to Bama early in the year.
Timing should matter here, imo.
BCS will implode if Ark beats LSU and goes to the SECcg and loses to Georgia.
