If Arkansas beats LSU on Friday and Alabama beats Auburn on Saturday, LSU/Arkansas/Alabama would end up in a 3-way tie in the SEC West, all with identical 11-1 (7-1) records. LSU beat Alabama, Alabama beat Arkansas, and Arkansas beat LSU. The human voters will have to take a step back and review the entire resumes of the three tied teams as the head-to-head wins cancel each other out.
Below is all the information one would need to break a 3-way tie between LSU (11-1), Arkansas (11-1), and Alabama (11-1).

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
NCAA: Strength of Schedule Rankings
1. LSU - #5 nationally, opponents are 61-38 (.616 winning percentage)
2. Alabama - #21 nationally, opponents are 58-43 (.574 winning percentage)

CONCLUSION
Based on these resumes, a reasonable person should come to the following conclusions:
1. LSU easily has the best overall resume, winning vs Oregon, @ West Virginia, and @ Alabama. LSU dominated 10 of the 12 teams it faced. LSU should be ranked the highest of the three teams.
2. Alabama throttled Arkansas, and played a slightly tougher schedule than the Hogs, winning @ Penn State and vs Arkansas. Alabama dominated 11 of the 12 teams it faced. Alabama should be ranked 2nd highest of the three teams.
3. Arkansas, by default, should be ranked 3rd highest of the three teams. Arkanasas dominated ONLY 6 of the 12 teams it faced.

LSU - seven ranked teams
Bama - they beat Arkansas
Arkansas - sorry, even though you played ranked teams that are on average ranked higher than Alabama, you are still Arkansas and no one outside of your state cares.

Not disagreeing necessarily, but can you tell me the reason(s) why you put Arky above Bama?

this is how I would put it
My reasoning: LSU easily has the best overall resume...so they get the #1 spot....then it comes to deciding between Arky and Bama for #2, and since Bama beat Arky pretty good AND have a better overall resume, OOC schedule, more dominating wins, I'd have to go with Bama at 2 and Arky at 3

Bama's win over an injury depleted Arkansas team with a new o-line at home is not as impressive as LSU's win @ Bama or an Arkansas win @ LSU.
Bama's win at PSU was okay. PSU is currently 8-1, but they have yet to earn a win over a ranked opponent and barely beat Temple, Indiana, and Purdue. PSU is about to earn 2 or 3 more losses in their final games against Nebraska, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.
All of the other teams Bama has beat are shite.
Therefore, Bama's biggest accomplishments this season, and why they deserve to be a top 3 team is... (drumroll)....: 1) Their #2 preseason ranking, and 2) their 3 point loss to LSU at home where they could only muster 6 total points through regulation and overtime.

The Vandy and Ole Miss games automatically put Arky at the bottom of the barrel for me.

Assuming everyone on here isn't completely retarded, LSU has to be the #1 team.
If only Arky and Bama had a tiebreaker, like a head to head matchup or something.

I did not post that, but I can give you my idea on why I would not put Alabama's resume above LSU or Arkansas if we all end up tied.
It is pretty simple......Alabama got both LSU & Arkansas at home. Arkansas will have had to go on the road to both, while LSU had to go on the road to Alabama.

So them annihilating you on the field and benching your quarterback wasn't worthy enough to put them ahead of you?

You want to base these rankings off one game? Okay then, I would put Arkansas over LSU b/c Arky would have a win over LSU on the road.

Of course that head-head tiebraker wouldn't apply to Arkansas' big (hypothetical) win at LSU right?
3 way ties always create a mess, but I've always been inclined to look at what has happened recently. We know teams usually progress or digress during a season, so I tend to put more stock into what happens at the end of the season.
That being said, records aside, LSU has looked really good all year while Arkansas has looked more consistently vulnerable, and at times weak.
But put yourself in Arkansas' shoes. Same record, same conference, same division and you just beat their butts on national TV two days before...and that's not supposed to count for anything? Because one team is a media favorite and the other is not?
