I just thought it was an interesting way to look at what might force a playoff.

If it happens it might force a playoff down the line. But I highly doubt it will happen. And that's not to say Bama isn't possibly the 2nd best team

if Aky beats LSU and we win out we go to SEC Championship game. They pick the highest ranked team.

Yeah... No. It doesn't work like that

f Bama goes to the NC and wins the NC without going to Atlanta then that would force a play off faster than anything.

The national outrage would be tremendous.

This is truth. Remember that this was our biggest complaint against all of those USC teams who would play no Pac10 championship game and yet play for the NC every year.

actually, it does just with one caveat. If the 2 highest ranked teams are less than 5 spots apart, then it goes to head to head between those 2 schools. So it if LSU was to lose to Arky and Bama won out, it would depend ENTIRELY on how far they dropped LSU.

I dont think they would drop them that far and the computers I dont think would drop them that far as long as Arky doesnt drop another game before then so in that case, LSU wins that head to head and would go to Atlanta. But the chance remains and is entirely in the hands of the voters and computers in that situation.

All seriousness aside, this made me chuckle.

Well, technically, no it wouldnt. If alabama won the BCSNCG then we would get the crystal ball and that would be that. The AP would have the opportunity to vote LSU #1 and in THAT case then it would be an official title.

Having said all that, I would never have a problem with them claiming a split title in that scenario since we would basically be dead even on head to head record and this sport is not based on a playoff format.... yet.

College playoff is only accurate way to determine a NC.

If there was a college playoff, Bama would be done.

Because there isn't they still have a chance, and they probably deserve it.

A playoff would ruin college football. I am totally against it until the day I die.
