Alabama entered the Redzone only once

What a great game...
There's a difference between bad offenses and great defenses. And what we saw last night were two great defenses.
Unless I'm mistaken, Bama only entered the Redzone once. And they couldn't do it even in OT when they started at the 25.
They were forced to kick very long FGs, well outside the range of their kickers.
Congrats Bama fans - you have a great team. Maybe we'll get to have a rematch in our neck of the woods...

Don't expect Bama fans to acknowledge this simple fact.
The truth is Les Miles would have went for 1/2 of those first downs. And let the chips fall where they may.
But Saban, being wound tighter than Richard Milhouse Nixon, failed his team.
Bama hit a brick wall at around our 30.
And then went all soft by kicking kicks we all KNEW would fail.
THAT was the real difference.
Great game, two BEHEMOTHS slugging it out.

Bama's coaching decisions during the game were surprising, to say the least. Someone on the Bama sidelines, maybe Saban, wasn't thinking clearly.

Yes he would have especially if he had a mule like Richardson.

But there is no doubt that Bama has a great team and are very well prepared. They just made several critical bone-headed decisions, like going for impossibly long field goals.
The Maze pass was a brilliant call which just didn't work. Can't fault them for that.
But completely eschewing field position in favor of confidence killing long kick attempts set the table for the ending.
This performance by Saban made Miles the smarter coach during this game. Not by gimmicks, but through sound fundamentals.

Bama's coaching decisions during the game were surprising, to say the least.
Throughout the game, once they got close to the 30, LSU's defense stiffened and Bama went backwards. They needed to do something different, and they did. Had Reid not made that exceptional play, Bama would have probably won. But he did, and LSU won the game.

Damn, our redone defense took another hit. Bama was 100% in the redzone. The whole one time they barely made it into it. Stats!!

Saban might want to start wearing a white hat like his daddy does. He was trying to do a Lesticles impersonation and it back fired.

The media has underestimated Miles and overestimated Saban. Saban is a great coach, but he's not the invincible coach the media has made him out to be. Miles has proven that. And he will get his due.
