It is entirely possible Wade thought it was a "scoop n score" opportunity and he thought his role was to take someone out so they could score the big winning touchdown. Maybe?

Not going to lie, you actually made me laugh with that one. First time.

He waved fair catch. Anyone saying otherwise is retarded. Sec officials call any hand gesture and he waves it off just before getting creamed which doesn't matter bc the ball hadnt gotten there yet. arky

the issue is there wasn't a lot of crying on our part, there was more he deserves to die that thug pos. totally confusing i guess on why hog fans would find that offensive.

Just watched the play for the first time. Yeah I'm late.
Is there really any debate on if he called fair catch? Cuz he didn't. And its not even close. It's painfully obvious that he raised his arm to shade his eyes before the catch. Anyone who watches the video and thinks he called fair catch, either doesn't know what fair catch is or is a dumbass.

Now, if its helmet to helmet and/or kick catch interference, I have no beef with that.

Fair fricking catch or not. He never allows Vandy kid to catch it. It was an illegal hit. End of discussion

It's a valid point, because if there was no fair catch, then it becomes a matter of bad timing/thinking the Vandy player had the ball. Of course it's still an illegal hit--no one is saying that it wasn't. Wade thought the guy had the ball, which I can understand since Wade was at a dead sprint (kid has 4.3 speed), so he didn't have much time to look for the ball, and the Vandy player made a cut and started sprinting up field toward our punt coverage.

None of that excuses the illegal hit, but it does support the argument that Wade's hit was not flagrant and malicious. These kinds of bad plays happen when teams are playing hard, running full speed to the ball, and trying to make a big play.

Whether or not you believe the hit was malicious is really a judgment call. I think the circumstances point toward it being an honest mistake on the part of a true freshman.

At the same time, I can't blame the SEC for suspending him. I can see the other side's reasoning.

How did that work out against Ohio State?

Just had to. At least it gives us something else to fight about.

I agree with everything in your post except this. We do not know if he did or did not think (e.g. intent) the PR had the ball. What we do know is that he was at a dead sprint and the PR moved forward three to four yards just prior to the impact. Everything else is pure speculation.

My personal thought, this was a judgment error that happened in a split second. If he had gotten up and checked on the PR there would have been an intereference with the opportunity to catch flag and nothing else.

We do know, because he said in an interview that he thought the PR had the ball.

The key part.

Bottom line, bad judgment/timing. No ill intent.

Way overblown.
