By the way, I meant 8 including 2009 (and of course 1992) since the article was written before the 2009 BCSNCG...

But anyway, I think 8 is the number that I can buy as being the "most" accurate assessment for bama.

I have no problem claiming our 4 undefeated Rose Bowl winning seasons from before the AP era as championships because that was the only way true championships were awarded in those days. If you don't like that then you are just wrong. You have to give credit for titles by the criteria required for them at the time.

If you only are willing to acknowledge BCS titles, then you are discounting a lot of football that was played. Same with poll titles. Before the major polls, titles were widely accepted as undefeated rose bowl champions when these were available.

Just because you dont want to count them, doesn't mean they didn't happen and weren't awarded.

I don't claim 1941. However I still say we have 13 titles. And the reason is because we got fricked dry twice and lubed a couple other times, and you don't find any current merchandise that discounts 41 so I figure the times we got fricked even out the crappy 41 claim enough that I can still wear a shirt that claims it in its count.

That's how I see it. If you don't agree, take it up with God when you see him one day.
