Why does Nov.5 have to end the dream run of either Alabama or LSU, the two best teams in college football? Its sad in a way, that America will see Ali and Frazier pounding each other just in order to play for the national title. Will either have anything left when its over?
No other college team has to take such a pounding in their dream run for the title game, they get a free pass but not Ali and Frazier. And true college fans everywhere should find that sad.

I find it sad that they can't both lose at the same time.

Suck it up, Lil' Rambler. You're fretting like you're Layla Ali.

For the winner... everything.
For the loser... heartache.... worst feeling there is.

A lot of LSU/Bama threads today. As if the game was this Saturday.

Take heart in the fact that LSU will perhaps forever be a part of the biggest game in BDS history. That`s a helluva a statement given Alabama`s storied history but Nov 5th will be a gameday like no other in Bama`s history. It sucks balls that the loser of let`s say an amazing 1 point loss couldn`t meet in a BCS title rematch. As an LSU fan, I`d look at the game that way (and vice versa if I was a Bama fan and this year`s game was in Tiger stadium). I`d assume a close Bama win due to home field advantage and be pleasantly suprised if your team won. It will be a historic game because it`s phenomenally rare to see a #1 vs #2 regular season match up matching conference rivals. It`s even more rare to have a several week build up to such a game. In other words, there`s a lot to be said for being part of such an amazing historical game even if your team loses.

I suppose these are two of the greatest teams in the history of college football. We don't talk about the Power of the SEC to assume these teams will walk through the other 5 / 6 games. Unless the SEC is just weak this year, which I don't think it is. I suspect both teams - outside - of that game will have a nail biter along the way- that's when a true champion will show up. Just don't lose and expect to still play in the title game. Not going to happen. Wisc / OU or OSU will be undefeated plus the dreaded Boise (please go away Boise).
