Having your nation's-longest winning streak snapped is one thing, but if you're Auburn you had to endure an additional indignity: losing it to an Alabama man.
Dabo Swinney, coach of the Clemson team that ended Auburn's 17-game winning streak, 38-24 Saturday, played on archrival Alabama's 1992 national championship team. And he just couldn't resist a postgame dig.
"It's only fitting that an Alabama grad would be in charge of the team that ended the winning streak," Swinney said.
Clemson is now 3-0 at home against defending national champions. In 1981, it defeated Georgia, 13-3, and in 1991 it defeated Georgia Tech, 9-7. That bit of history wasn't lost on Swinney, either.
"They made a decision to be great today," he said of his team as seven state troopers tried to hold back a swarm of Clemson fans that stormed the field. Then, pumping his fist, he added, "And I can't think of a better place to end a streak than Death Valley, South Carolina, baby!"
ROLL TIDE!

What an idiot. He needs to worry about keeping his job this year as he needs that win and a few others to stay off the hot seat after the melt down they had last year.

No just find it funny that a coach that was told last year he had to make drastic improvement or find a new home is talking shite lol. he's in my list same as Mullen in that he's a coach that won't be around at this level for long.

Yep, U MAD.
That coach's offense just ran and passed for 650+ yards on your defense. I think he made some improvement.
Also, how do you know what he was told?

quote:They had 414 yards of offense against Auburn last year and gashed them for 620 and some change this year so I would say that was a drastic improvement

College football is absolutely no place for friendly jabs at the rival school you just beat. Shame on him for enjoying the moment.

As an LSU fan If Dabo gets canned, I 100% do not want to see him on staff at Bama. He is a recruiting machine and a damn good assistant coach. Plus his energy and comments paired with that of Cochran's would be insane
How are you doing this evening, Bella?

As I said before, I wouldn't put it past Dabo to skip preparation for Wofford last week just to be better prepared for Auburn. From the way he acted in both games against Auburn, it seems he's basically a Bama fan. He REALLY wanted to beat us.
