MSU students given the day off for the big game. Plaske and Ryan are drilling the president. Really? Was I dreaming? Or, is this not a common thing at schools?

WHo cares what these guys think. Any big football school would cancel classes. Besides, I wouldn't go to class anyways.

Of course it's common, it's fricking thursday. What do they expect? THOUSANDS of people to flood the campus while students are going to and from class, going to work, etc, etc? It would be a logistical nightmare and isn't worth having 1 lousy day of class that most people won't go to anyway.

whew, for a moment there, I thought you were talking about football.

it's not so much as giving the students the day off as it is probably giving the university the ability to lock all the doors to buildings on campus they don't want traffic in

ESPN is the reason for Thursday night football, yet they have a problem with colleges doing what is necessary to make it happen.

I wouldn't go to class on a Thursday or Friday whether it was football season or not unless I had a test

Those tards don't realize that Campus would have been a cluster today if they had class. This is the SEC where football is King.

Plaske said if he were paying tuition for his kid to attend MSU he would be on the horn with the president ASAP questioning his priorities. Obviously he went to a non SEC school. Baylor!
Bob Ryan said it was just bad timing with all of the negative attention surrounding the NCAA..... Boston College!

Here is how I see it. When there is a big game, I could see it being understandable if the professors said, attendance is optional. Because, believe it or not, there are some students that go to class regardless. Like the foreign students. I can see where it can cause some discussion. I mean, it is an academic institution shutting the doors for a football game. Goes for any school. Classes should remain open, but students shouldn't have an absence counted against them if they don't show up.
