What students here on the Rant have class with SEC athletes or have in the past? I attend Western Kentucky University and have had several classes with football, basketball, & track players.

We play both LSU & Kentucky this year and the players I've talked to are extremely excited about playing those schools. What kind of conversations or experiences do you have with those athletes that are well known in the nation but are going through college just like us.

I had class with Sidney Rice back in 2005. He was probably the biggest one.

I was good friends with Kendall Simmons. He was extremely cool. We had the same major and hung out a good bit. He was a really nice guy.

I had classes with Ronnie Brown and Jason Campbell but it was a huge lecture class so I never talked to them really. That was about it.

About $9 an hour... It was an option for my on scholarship for an on campus job.

I do not write papers, do homework, or take tests for anyone but myself. I don't need my free ride taken away

Do ya'll have any funny stories about things that happened in class? Ex. I had a summer class with one of our lineman this summer. We had to do a presentation on a construction project. We had to learn they type of construction utilized such as fast-track, design-Build, or general construction. The amount of the project and who did the design work. We also had to explain why we chose that topic.

The athlete I was in class with did our education building on campus. It was a L.E.E.D. project and utilized green & sustainable materials in its construction. He started out by saying his name, the project, and the reason he chose it was, "Because I liked it". He went on the next couple of minutes stumbling through the material and then he played a video for the remainder of the presentation. He didn't cover any of the criteria for the project but once he was finished he asked if there were any questions. Someone then asked," have you been in the building since it was completed?" The lineman went, “actually no I have not but I plan on doing that in the future."

You could tell he didn't prepare for the presentation and really scraped by.

I took real classes at state don't remember having many key contributor football players in my classes. Did have a couple of basketball and baseball players such as Craig Tatum and Paul Maholm who are in the MLB.
