Either trying to motivate Johnson, or resting him up until his hamstring is better.

Uekman at 2nd string FB is surprising. He hardly practices with the FB's at all. I've seen him line up at FB sometimes, but never considered him an actual FB. He can block okay, and is a good receiver, although receiving out of the backfield is a little different than running routes as a TE.

Fisher as the 2nd KR surprises me too. edit: And Elton Ford getting the nod over Bennett

This. And Curtis over Johnson at RB.

I wouldn't read too much into this. Gragg is going to be huge this season in the passing game. Gragg can block alright, but he doesn't bring the same power to the run game, and Nash is a pretty good receiver himself.

Eh, I think Curtis over DJ is because he hasn't practiced much the past couple weeks.

LOL, I guess if you tell yourself this enough someone will eventually believe it outside of the delusional Arky fanbase

That would need to be a 41 YPG improvment, based on where the #3 defense finished in the SEC last year.

He should get 3-10 carries in the cupcake games, and up to 20 carries in the big games if he stays healthy.

They were #7 in the SEC last year in the defensive category that matters. LOL @ them jumping up to #3. They just dont have the defensive depth that it takes to have a to D in this conference.

These were suprising to me:

quote:

DE 43 Tenarius Wright (Jr., 6-2, 252)
86 Trey Flowers (Fr., 6-4, 243)

Not the Tank part obviously but the fact that Flowers is listed as his backup. Not to bad for a signing day suprise that came out of absolutely nowhere.

quote:

S 5 Tramain Thomas (Sr., 6-0, 204)
16 Ryan Farr (Jr., 6-1, 195)
22 Darrell Smith (So., 6-3, 203)

Yet again, the suprise to me is that Farr beat out Darrell Smith. I really was hoping to see Darrell step it up and start pushing for meaningful playihng time if he is going to be our safety of the future. Is the injury still bothering him or what?
