I think so. I was in a meeting this morning about recovery efforts, and I'm still bursting into tears from some of the things I heard.

thanks for checking. I live in Vestavia Hills near the Bluff Park/Hoover area which was hit hard with storm damage. Unbeliveable the uprooted (and I mean HUGE trees). We lost power until 9 or so last night but evidently didn't get "internet" until this morning. Fortunately we just have some twigs and a stray shingle or two in the yard. A house a block away had a tree come through their front door.

I work in Hueytown. Now, "as the crow flies", its about three miles east of Concord and two miles south of Pleasant Grove. We have no power (which also means no phone at work),which in the big picture is no big whoop, but can't do anywork so I came home.

But Concord. Oh, my goodness. Went by there on the way home. Just awful. Roads are closed going over there but it got hit like a grenade. Rather small, rural area but 11 people were killed. For those familiar with the area Concord is only 5-6 miles from Oak Grove, site of the horrible April 1998 tornado.

SO glad you are safe! Was your damage from the straight line winds?

Every time I see a story that involves a child I have to turn the channel. I honestly don't know what I would do if something happened to my little girl.

I was worried about you. I'm thankful you and your family ok.

I've heard Concord was hit bad. I've yet to see pics on the internet though. There are not many from Pleasant Grove either.

I can tell you that Pratt City looks like a war zone at the moment.

I know Rummy. I keep crying when I hear about children left without parents. I've got to pull myself together before I see people who need someone who isn't blubbering with tears.

thanks, by the grace of God (literally) neither my home nor place of business has any damage. I almost feel guilty, in a way (y'all probably know what I mean,I hope). So much destruction ,that can be repaired near where I live, but so much destruction with deaths near where I work.

I had a big "gulp" this morning when a delivery guy came in and said "Steve's Grocery" in Concord was demolished and "Steve" was killed. Never met him but went in that store some and kinda could figure out who he was. Chilling to put a real person with a statistic.
