10 yard cushions and zone reads are part of the EJ defense, they just didn't execute. I think Gilmore did outstanding, considering he only let a few get by him the whole season. His VERY few mistakes happened to be big bust plays. I still think he's one of the best in the Conference.

Busted pass plays were a common occurrence when Ellis Johnson was at Alabama. We always had a suspect secondary, but thankfully it never really mattered with the front seven we had at the time.
