Losing Manny Diaz will hurt more than a lot of people realize. Plus they lost a ton and haven't been recruiting particularly well to replace those guys.

Have they ever taken a step forward? Is the bigger question..

Shut yo whore mouth! This is the best chance we have had in a looooooong time to be legit
ETA: We didn't need to recruit particularly well this year. Next year, different issue....

I think they will be good but its gonna have its bumps in the road. Lost alot of leadership on D and the OL, which is never a good thing in the SEC, and their breaking in a new DC. I know I know state fans, Wilson is using the same system etc etc but there is going to be a learning curve. There's a reason Texas hired Diaz and not Wilson. Diaz has proven himself, Wilson hasnt proven shite.
Im saying 7-5 with losses to LSU (of course), Bama, UGA, USCe, and That School up Above Dey arse.

We return every single offensive skill player including Relf, Ballard, Bumphis, Perkins, Clark, etc...
We will be fine this fall. Our Defense still returns 7 starters and most ot it's two deep. We redshirted almost our entire 2010 signing class and they will provide depth.
I don't see how a bad 2011 recruiting class will make us have a bad season this fall.

They will be a better team, but their record may not show it because they play in the SEC West. I say 8-4 again.

Considering that we only got beat by teams that all went to BCS games and destroying the most successful program in football hx in the Gator Bowl, I would say we took a step forward last year.

No, you're not taking into account a few things..
1)Dan Merlins as HC
2)Dan Merlins ability to coach up players
3)Diamonds in the Rough
4)State will only improve every single year that they have Merlins.
5)They won't miss losing NFL level talent
6)They beat a terrible Florida team last year
7)CoonassBulldawg
8)Cowbells
9)TSUN
10)31-23
11)Scientology
Clearly they'll be better this year after you consider all of those facts

Don't you dare question MooU. They're going to be a contender. It's no longer about "just going to bowl games." Mullen will be a victim of his own success IMO.
They lost some close games last year, such as Auburn and Arky, but they also won a lot of close games such as Kentucky, UAB, and Florida.
They're 7-5 or 8-4 IMO.

You're such a blind homer sometimes. Tds, who is a logical state poster, said if yall have injuries @ DT, OL, or LB that it could get ugly quick. And he's right. You don't just "plug guys in" like you think. I realize that Mullen is Bear Bryant's love child but cmon.
I hope you will be willing to eat some deep fried crow when Carmon frickING BLOWS at LT for yall. I can already see his arse getting embarrassed and no Al, I dont give a baker's frick about "how good Carmon loooked in the spring."

Under Mullen we win the games we should and come damn close to wining some we probably shouldn't. The bears wish they were in that shape

Let us see what Cheesedik does without the talent he had last year before making such assumptions

irony.
Let's see what Mullen does without several NFL-caliber players before making assumptions that yall are headed to a BCS game. You're still Mittittippi Tate...

6-7 with a big blowout bowl loss.

the year hinges on Relf and the progress he makes or doesn't. I think the defense will be fine, particularly with the two future NFL DTs and Maye manning the middle. The 9-3/7-5 question is how good will Relf be? We know the run game will be there.
